It's usually not only to do with being nervous. Nervous people with nothing to hide do things that make it very clear that they are nervous, usually by overcompensating. In this situation, I'm guessing that the decision was based off a strong smell coming from the car, a loosely put together argument about his aunt's car and the way that an at the time brand new car was being driven& treated.

Exactly! Had the police found nothing, the footage would never have been broadcast. As drugs were found on this occasion, people will think the police were justified in their actions but if the general public saw how many people were stopped and nothing found, they may start to question if random people should be stopped based on things like appearance.

their reasoning was the fact that it was a brand new car which was in tatters which could mean they stole it, especially since its insured by a women and not a man. They pulled it over for a routine check, they weren't expecting to find drugs and knives.
