The vast majority of homeless people have serious, critical mental disorders. It's why they're homeless. They're not stable enough to hold a job and pay rent. It's rather tragic. In this guys head the cops were going to kill him when all he wanted was shelter and safety. It speaks volumes about how much mental instability he has when even the people meant to protect him are seen as a threat to life. Hopefully he gets good mental health support and counselling to get him back to a stable state of being.
