Been a carrier for 11 years. My contract when I started, there was no 2 year then become a ptf. I was a cca for 6 years and it doest count towards my retirement date. If it counted I would almost be maxed out in pay. Everyone gets screwed one way or another

Yes I am aware of what happened to you guys , however the fight for you isn’t over , you need people from that generation of contract to fight for those years to be added towards retirement and possibly get retroactive pay towards the TSP . The reality is we will get 100% of what we don’t fight for . It might take an act of congress , or it might take collective bargaining. Whatever the route , the road to victory isn’t going to happen on its own. To admit defeat is , is to give power to the opposition !

You have been a carrier for 11 years and CCA'S are still getting screwed just in a different position. To me that is on the Union. Have they made it better with the 2 yrs yes but they are still very much underpaid. Actually new converts are underpaid as well

I started out at $15 an hour back then. At step I now. Still on the sorry @ss payscale too. In reality, in 11 years I've had a $16 increase. Still that would not be the case with most jobs out here.

Left the union 6 or 7 years ago. I would be willing to join again but they need to negotiate a great contract.

Right now grievances are paused who winning USPS. The contract delay, who winning the USPS. No union meetings at this time, when they start up cancel union dues, im not taking less than 20% stand up. Can’t strike but hurt union pockets.

Yes and plus when u start the staff try’s to scare you off like they own the USPS LORD WE NEED BETTER LEADERS

Maxed out carriers only care about maxed out carriers and the union only cares about our dues. No one is looking out for CCAs and junior carriers but want to hold stand up talks and meetings when new CCAs quit after 1 month. It’s just a fact.

Everyone needs to opt out of the union. They aren’t on your side at all. When I started at orientation. There were 3 other people that refused to sign the union papers. They told me it was pointless. I should have listened to them. Waste of 1200$ a year. And the vp from out union walked around the room making sure everyone signed. He acted like we had to sign. I was actually under the impression that we had to join. Ups just hired me. But I’m still on the fence about going. I’ve only been here as a cca for a year. But it’s by far the worst job I have ever had In my ENTIRE LIFE

I don’t miss disrespectful management that goes after workers who do the right thing and are afraid to speak to the screw ups. I don’t miss the union who is in bed with management. I don’t miss a failing fleet of LLV’s where you bake inside during hot weather and have a multitude of issues. I do miss beating the upper chain at their own game and winning multiple grievances. There will be bad apples everywhere but the management at The Service is made up of crafters who couldn’t do the job they were initially hired for. Did two different stints with The Service and it was even worse the second time. This new government job actually values us. Failing company.

No offense first and foremost. I agree the pay is too low for starting CCA’s. That being said, no one is forcing anyone to take these jobs. That’s where the union comes in. Sadly we have a corrupt union that has given in to management for the last 3 contracts. Senior carriers have zero voice in the union. Our only voice is leaving the union and costing them money.

Don’t listen to the max out guys, they’re egomaniacs that only care about themselves and what they get. They’re obsessed with themselves and don’t want good for junior carriers which is damaging the post office. Anyone that’s been 20 years deserves it all, I don’t take that away from them but we deserve ours too. They’ve always been ahead of the curve, we’ve always been below it. And the issue with the union is it’s full of these same old guys, we need young blood and people to fight for us. They’ll be gone soon anyways

The old time carriers have been enjoying the results from a strike they did not have to participate in and we are no longer able to threaten.

Table 1 carries also never had to deal with crap wages. Before the Cca positions TEs were making like $25-$26 an hour. Carries on Table 1 always had good wages for the most part
