Tbf for Shuro, he didn't know Falin was eaten by the dragon, only Laios knew because everyone was down.

I like the details of Senshi and Namari, being dwarves, having really high heat tolerance. because no normal human could hold down a pot like that long enough to burn an undine to death. we had that hint in the dungeon trap episode where senshi can stick his finger into boiling oil and even tell the temperature.

Author really put a lot of thought into her characters, backstory, behavior, and motivations. We'll learn more about why Namari and samurai chose to leave the party.
@AC_Art-N-Stuff8 ай бұрын
13:57 I mean... Sure it would be a more noble story for Namari, but no one outside of this party would know that. And Chilchuck just said that gossip runs through their community like wildfire. If you go down with one party, and that party returns without you because you joined a different party, it shows your loyalty is either extremely flimsy (which ain't good for hiring purposes, since you have to trust your party with your life) or you'd be bought out by the highest bidder (which, like Chilchuck said, would bring in the wrong clientele). Rejoining the dungeon meshi party would only be negative for Namari (AND THEY LOST ALL THEIR MONEY IN THE FIRST EPISODE, SO NO PAYCHECK!)
@AC_Art-N-Stuff8 ай бұрын
Also, lol you calling out the racism toward elves from the gnome and dwarf, meanwhile at the end you're racist toward dwarves ("[Senshi] isn't very good at discerning metal types, *despite being a dwarf*.") /j

i dont get why people get so mad at the old team members for leaving lol they were like aquaintances at best and dungeon teams are like work groups so obviously if youre being asked to go in with no pay or equipment or food to save someone you arent really close to you'd say no there's no ill will

namari revealed that the other guy was in love with Falin ad he still left. Their excuse doesn't matter, we can still not like them. They are awful. Plus saying there is no ill will when they won't save someone that will die soon especially when that person saved them is bullshit. They don't actually care if Falin dies or not. Plus, that old guy used Namari as a fucking shield when his plan didn't work even though our group tried to tell them it wouldn't work. They are awful. They were lucky our group is so nice. I would've left them for dead.

@@paige8453 They _did not_ know what happened. Even in the flashback _one episode ago_ , they left before Marcille or Chilchuk confirmed with Laios what had happened. Reminder; Falin literally _yeeted_ them all out of the dungeon with the understanding that she would die in the process. They didn’t run away, they were _sent_ away. Had something for earlier and forgot it, but (remembered: Namine didn’t know Laios was interested in eating monsters, he kept a lid on that until this particular rushed run) 11:39 Laios is the ‘leader,’ in this instance at least. Senshi’s investment is in making sure they stay fed, otherwise he has no extreme or particular (stated) drive to delve deeper. 13:51 Won’t fly in the rumor mill, and still doesn’t get her paid. 21:55 It was presumed that Falin was simply “missing” rather than “eaten” when Namine and Suro left. And, the lack of planning/getting lost that was mentioned at the beginning, was primarily what caused their loss to begin with.

4:40 note: this dungeon specifically you don’t stay dead. Not going into why but other dungeons exist in the world but if you die in those you stay dead for good. Hence why this dungeon boomed the most on ppl coming because if they die it’s not that much of a issue as long body and soul is intact. But others ppl are very cautious since it’s for sure death if not careful. Also why the gnomes are most curious on this because if is unnatural how it’s easy to counter death here and it goes against the laws of life.

Not all dungeons would have the immortality curse, but it isn't unique to this dungeon. Not only do we see a soul-binding curse in a ring in Falin's backstory, but the backstories of certain characters listed in the Adventurer's Bible lists "first deaths" that could not have occurred in this dungeon.

No, leaving your new party and rejoining an old party for friendship isn't noble. It just tells other people you can jump ship at any time if you have friends who need your help in other places. Imagine being in the deeper dungeon but one of your party members ran on you because "friend needs help". What group would want that kind of person there? Even in actual workplaces, no one would hire someone like that because it's not professional.

Manga Completionist back again, with some deep-cut lore and history that is illustrated in the supplemental material. Those of you with an aversion to spoiler-ish material, I suggest you don't look to this comment. ... ...alright Now, I can't go into Senshi's backstory without ruining a great few chapters (and hopefully, _episode)_ of the story, but I can say that Namari and he are atypical of the Dwarven community at large, and this has unfortunately turned some backs to their honest needs. See, Namari's father was a blacksmith and armory keeper for the island this is taking place on, but one nite, the gold of the township turns up missing, and papa smithy's skipped town, leaving his daughter to face the music. Though she didn't earn an inch of it, Namari was unfortunately saddled with her father's reputation as a clan-splitter, one who has done the good name of the Dwarven community a serious disservice, a move that's also cost them all a lot of trust from everyone else on the island, including the local king (who the Tances work as advisors to, hence their investigation into the dungeon). Needless to say, since Dwarves are pretty much in every line of workaround, this has all but cost her the dream she trained for since youth, becoming a great blacksmith like her dad, and censured her to the lackluster career of a mercenary. This is why she has to really watch her choices because, like it or not, her dad has hobbled her reputation no matter how good she does. It's really not fair, and has resulted in her playing things a little close to the vest when it comes to party members. This also accounts for her opinion on metalworking and such, and her initial disdain towards Senshi for using such a peerless metal as Adamantite as a cooking pot. But, like he says, it wasn't ALWAYS a pot, but I can't talk about that yet.. hopefully, the anime will at some point, it is quite a ways down the road. Senshi is basically a non-entity to other Dwarves because he lacks those qualities that are prized in their culture, riches, handiwork, clever use of tools and engineering, so they tend to just ignore him like a weird outcast that lives in the dungeon like some kinda weirdo, like WHO DOES THAT EVEN. There's a lot to this story, and Toshiro (Shuro, Laios only knew his westernized name) is a whole other basket of eggs. I doubt you'll notice though, as Toshiro's new party has got some... distracting elements to it. 👹 🍑

3:45 as $&@$ed as it is I would do this in tabletop rpgs too and players also IF they have something to instant revive. Welp played divinity original sin the board game, got a scroll of resurrection which revived a downed character and instantly heal them to max hp. So technically this is fine as long you got the sources to revive with no issue and the person is compensated.

That bit with Laios and the helmet is actually one of my pet peeves on fiction. Why a perfectly armored character isn't wearing his damn helmet? I obviously know why it's done: so the expressions of actors or characters can be seen, but still, for anyone that knows anything about history or Medieval Warfare it's just jarring. For those that don't know, in battles to disarm a Knight or anyone in heavy armor, you just took the helmet away. They didn't even took your sword or knives. They just removed the helmet and left a man-at-arms with a mace guarding the prisoners, up to six at a time. It was understood that hat was enough: the guard could easily brain a prisoner with his mace if they resisted or tried to escape . The point being, armor is pretty useless without the helmet. I also blame Hollywood's laziness and refusal to do things differently. If the Mandalorian taught anything is that you can have characters with full helmets and it works. Leave the character action for moments outside battle if you must. Pretty interesting the lore about resurrection spellls and the Dungeon.
@jasonfurumetarualkemisto59179 ай бұрын
To be fair though, Laios's armour and the lack of a helmet is actually useful to his situation. He isn't fighting Humans that generally go for the head, he's fighting mindless or beastial creatures. Most Wild animals go for the throat instead, so his armour has a very Thick Gorget protecting his neck. Showing he's not just wearing it for show. Amy other non-predator non-intelligent monster will simply go for the centre of mass, his armoured torso. Most other creatures in this show that can circumvent the neck protection can easily deal with a helmeted or fully armoured opponent as well. E.g. Slimes slipping through armour, giant monsters just flattening him, dropping him from a large height, using chemical warfare, attacking him through his dreams, mind control, drowning e.t.c. A helmet would offer more protection sure, but after a while it'll start to be more hindrance than aid. While armour isn't as heavy as it seems, after wearing it for several hours, in a deep dark musty pit, having to move up and down many stairs or fleeing from agile foes, the extra weight adds up.
