I just "discovered" your channel and am so glad. I love that you spoke about trauma comparisons. This has been a huge hindrance in my own recovery. People told me I didnt have problems, and they would just compare compare compare even the smallest things. It got to me to the point that i started actively working against my own therapist, trying to disprove my own memories, experiences, and symptoms. People dont talk about trauma comparing very much, but when you dismissed the people telling you that you shouldnt be in therapy, i was reminded that i can stand up for myself and remind myself that those people dont know what theyre talking about bc they arent me or my therapist. For mindful eating, it is a practice to me. I make sure to sit down before I eat, and I don’t listen to music or watch anything. As I am eating, some things that help me are noticing the smell, how it feels to chew, how the flavor develops through a bite. I also try to note why and when I have the desire to pick up my next bite of food, am I holding the fork the whole time? What is it that makes me pick up the fork for my next bite? Finally, I sometimes consider the associations I have with these notes. How do I feel when I enjoy a food, feel it is neutral, or dislike it? with what emotion do I associate my desire to pick up the fork again? These are just some things that have really helped me to settle and enjoy my food as I eat. I have healed a lot with this sort of meditation on eating, but I am still practicing. :)

Lovely vlog! Judgmental comments always come from a place of hurt inside others. It's so much easier said than done, but we can come from a place of observance and objective understanding when someone says something hurtful. Sending love to those individuals is such a healing thing to do. I've dealt with this by doing that, yet it's also important to have boundaries and tell people what you accept and don't...

For mindful eating, I struggle too and a good alternative is calm music or just music in general. Because you are not so focused on the message so you have more space to focus on the food 😘

Hi Hannah, you asked whether someone could give you tips on how to eat mindfully. I am not an expert and what is working for me might not work for someone else. However, I'd love to share , how I have learned enjoying to eat without listening to or watching anything. I started years ago with a conscious exercise like this: Let's take your oat meal bowl as an example. Feel the bowl in your hands. What does it feel like? Find adjectives to describe it. Which colors can you see in your bowl? What is the scent of the oats, fruits, the powder, the milk? Find adjectives and describe it. What is the taste like? close your eyes....the essence of the exercise is to feel fully with all your senses. And immerse yourself in those senses. You will be surprises how it feels like a meditation and you might notice things you never noticed before.

Ein tipp wegen dem mindful essen wäre vielleicht 20-30 Mal jeden Biss kauen, aber vielleicht einfach im Kopf zu behalten langsamer zu essen, wie eine Kuh es auch auf der Weide macht, natürlich sind wir keine Wiederkeuer haha aber u get it

Hi. “Chai” means tea, so when you say “chai tea” it is tautology. You have to use Masala chai or Masala tea.
