Wow!! I used to watch this show every morning around 11am! I was seventeen years old at the time! I used to play along by guessing the tunes! 😃

I'm a historian, also was a teen at the time of this show. I got nostalgic for game shows with public displays of intelligence; the pop culture quality of this show is so satisfying! I love the commercials, I remember the national ones. The imagery of the local ones is wonderfully representative of that period. It's ironic the theme to Welcome Back, Kotter was one song here, I was singing that to my pets earlier. I guess I miss the '70s tonight. Thanks for this.

Anyone notice how as Tom was paying off the $500 the stagehands in the rotating cube were moving the outer wheel into a position to remove the *CAR* plexiglass section and then close it up to move it to the nearest DOUBLE?

They robbed dude on the "he ain't heavy he's my brother"....Tom said it had to be exact and she didn't say it right either. Hope that got audited later.

The "Makin' It", "What's Happening!!" and "Heroes of Rock N' Roll" promos were v/o by Veteran ABC East Coast announcer and former ABC News World News Tonight announcer, Bill Rice.

And "Makin' It" was gone after just a few episodes. I think the time slot change might have hurt "What's Happening"'s ratings.

I caught that, too...you'd think they would've told the prop man to wait until the camera was away from the wheel before removing the car space!

The lady got the second tune wrong, but they said she was right. The song is called "Night Fever", not "Saturday Night Fever"(the movie it is from).

In this version of the show, as long as you included the title in what you said, they accepted it. It was only in the mystery tune, which they weren't doing anymore by this time, that you had to be completely exact.
