this is a great video, thank you so much for making it. I just watched your midir video and they are both so good, I wish you made one of them for every boss. I can't believe how few views this has, it's criminal, it deserves a million.

Thank you :) haha yes I hoped for more views on this one especially. But yes on YT there are tons of hidden gems, that will never get many views, even though they would deserve better. People must give smaller channels a chance,s adly there is also a lot of bad stuff ^^ The problem with these detailed guides is, that they take a very long time to make. I need to practice the boss for many hours, record footage for many hours for the more complex bosses, a lot of footage also means it takes forever to edit, develop a good strategy and then structure it into a video guide. I did it with a few of the more interesting boss fights of DaS3 and the DLCs (that I thought people could struggle with), but the views were initially quite bad. Even the Midir one, but it got rally good views over time, which surprised me. I wanted to make a Friede guide too, but only posted a no damage taken run, with some hints and a very short video on how to make it easier to track her, when she becomes invisible. I also have to admit that the process of making a guide is quite intimidating for some bosses like Gael or Friede, because they have so many different attacks (I originally wanted to make a guide for them too). Well nowadays I make Tolkien and Lord of the Rings related videos with great success (found my nieche) and occasionally a gaming related video. If Elden Ring comes out and one boss is a ton of fun and difficult, maybe i make a guide again ^^ Also sorry for the wall of text :D

@@ThePhilosophersGames it's criminal how few views this has, truly. I can't imagine the staggering amount of time this video took, probably beaten only by like full animation and stuff. it is definitely appreciated by me, at least. the really upsetting thing is the idea of videos like this from you for the crazy bosses like friede, midir, gael (Gael especially I would appreciate right now, since he's the boss I'm working on now). totally understand that the work didn't really pay off for this one, shame. you did a really fantastic job, though, for what it's worth.

@@ridespirals I still have no regrets making it. the Midir video was in contrast very successful. Oh Gael is tough ^^ he has so many attacks, but there were a few little tricks I foudn out, that could help players a lot, but I forgot already =/

Thank you, SO much. For doing this, I can tell how much work you put into it. Fantastic, and much needed guide.

Wholeherarted thanks for this. For the first playthrough due some sheer luck I managed to kill TNK within reasonable tries but I guess that was a very lucky build. The second playthrough I hit a wall and for long hours I was clueless. Your analysis and strategy helped immensely so after very long hours I beat his arse. Liked and subscribed.

Thank you too, happy it worked out for you so well. I really put in a ton of time learning this boss back in the day (I even beat him fists only no damage taken 😂 took me like 30 hours of practice) ^^ I hope you like Lord of the Rings stuff (and trilled Rs 😂), because that is what I mostly cover these days, but I think if Elden Rings comes out and I like it, I might do more boss guides.

Thank you, happy you found it helpful ^^ I remember putting a lot of work into it. I rarely get comments on it though xD Usually my general Dark Souls guide and the guide for a DLC boss are very popular though.

Oh my god, I finally beat him thanks to your tutorial, thanks bro, thanks, it's true that you can't just get desperate, you have to hit him once, maybe twice, and then recover far away from him. It's better to fight him from afar, thanks, thanks, thanks. 😅👌👍

The cheasiest way I can beat him is with a Crossbow. A good one, like the Arbalest. You can actually run, and gun with them, as opposed to Bows, Magic, or anything, so you can dodge all his crap. He's got a lot of crap to throw at you. Shoot him as soon as he holds still, keep moving, reload, and wait for another opportunity. It takes a long time, but so does getting killed over, and over again.

Yes, when I practiced him back in the day, I tried to outrun his moves too and it worked fairly well. So I can imagine fighting him in ranged combat can work out, but my guide's are usually melee focused, because I think most player's start this way. Thanks for the input! =)

If most players think one way, and tend to get killed, repeatedly, does that mean continue the same plan thinking this time it will work? No, it does not.

You are totally right. Only if the player starts to understand and changes things, then things can start working.

Well, that and my point is that this community in particular is dominated by the Meta. Basically a handfull of players decided the "Right way," and a lot of them are Gamergate bigots bent on humiliating Noobs. When FromSoft has always been about playing Your way, with your build, all the way back to Armored Core. That's why they always give us so many build options, particularly weapons. Honestly, the Crossbow is the Easy way. How I did it, so I din't have to learn the Hard Way, because I didn't see this fantastic How To video. I figured it out by myself, and fought Cheese (He rides in on a Dragon, and throws Lightning, the element historically used to kill Dragons at you!) with Cheese. If I had seen this before, hell now that I have, I can start to try beating him with hand weapons. Thank you, I wish I could Like this again. The best KZbin video in the game. You win.

Just a final note: Splintering Bolts. I used the Light Crossbow for reload time (The fastest. Also the lightest, so you can pare down below 30% with the Carthus Bloodring, high Physical, and Lightning resistance.) but it's a shotgun, and especially in the first phase, you can score multiple hits. On Both of them. Their hitboxes are that big. It really makes this fight a lot easier, but if you have it, the Avylin might work even better. Just don't get caught reloading. You have to be able to roll reactively, especially in the final phase where he moves too fast to hit reliably. (The shotgun effect of the Splintering bolts work for this too, but hold the shot until he stops, roll out, then reload. Rinse, repeat...) Oh yeah, and you can use the Weapon Art for quick maneuvers too. Not as quick as him, but again, it helps.
