NAMI OR BOA HANCOCK? | WHO WILL LUFFY END UP WITH IN ONE PIECE?

oda only said it in response to some fans of live action pointing out great chemistry between the actors who played nami and zoro respectively and how their characters were written. I for one can never imagine luffy 'sette down' with boa - their every interaction is a gag that i cannot take seriously. I personally don't see a big "Naruto-like" wedding at the end of one piece. I don't even see pairings being explicitly confirmed but judging by nami's feelings for luffy (familial or not) slowly growing, I'd rather root for nami and luffy. although there is always a room for a random guy nami falls head over heels for in the coming arcs..

That quote that people bring up about no romance between strawhats is pretty much non existent in proof of current one piece ships. First off, oda once said there would be no romance because they are in love with adventure, basically avoiding the question, not answering literally. But also, Oda has previously made absolute statements in the past that he has gone back on. One in particular was that there would never be ANY romance because boys that watch shonen don't care, but then Sanji and Pudding happened. That quote you brought up was in very very early one piece, and he has gone back on past decisions. Basically there is no guarantee of anything except hints as you watch the show. I see potential for it to go any direction, but there still needs more development of Luffy's potential to care for romance. I'd say I partially prefer Nami, but at the end of the day I just want a pair that fits them both. Nami's dream of a world map and Luffy's dream of king of the pirates/adventure go really well together. I like Boa, but something doesn't feel the same in her one sided worshiping of him. But I like her too, but I just feel like Oda could write a 10x better romance without Boa as the center even though she has had some good moments.
