Thank you dear Diane. At 78 young years, I find January to be so difficult. I do just want to rest with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate or coffee watching the gray days pass from the couch. You lift my spirits like a breath of fresh spring air and sunshine!

Hi Dear Diane! I just love all your lovely videos....Yes, putting away all the Christmas decorations is cathartic...and then the simplicity of January is refreshing. I also change my cushion covers for the changing seasons. I love the beautiful cushions and coverlet you have placed on your couch and chairs....most of all I truly love your beautiful and genuine smile.

I think it’s interesting that many winter traditions have an element of clearing out, cleaning out, or creating space during this time. Must be something deep within a lot of us that is ready to bring in more light, and fresh energy. ❄️

Oh i loved you saying that about pushing back on always having to be productive!! We grew up in a generation that taught us that or else we were lazy good for nothing bums! Lol. But there is no balance, no rejuvenation in that thought process. Thank you, love.

Before I tell you how much I enjoyed & appreciated this video, I want to tell you about an encounter I had at Trader Joe's. I'm hoping you will appreciate it. While there a few weeks ago I was looking all over for precooked breakfast sausage. Turned out a very nicely dressed woman with an expensive hair cut was also looking for the same. (you know where the Rochester area TJ's is. ;- ) We both found it with some help & started chatting. I told her I wanted to make French toast with my Brioche bread & she said her son LOVES his breakfast sandwiches & it's always egg, sausage and cheese on an English muffin. I told her I have a "friend" who's daughter with DS loves the same thing on many mornings. TBH I'm not sure why I mentioned DS, it's irrelevant to the story. It just "came out". But , she just LIT up & said, "My son has DS too! If he loves something he wants to eat it or do it OFTEN! And he LOVES his breakfast sandwiches!" We both smiled & went our separate ways. But, I wanted to let you know that, by "proxy," sharing something about sweet Millen instantly connected with this Mother who I had a feeling was sometimes careful about sharing that bit of information. It warmed my heart. In any case...Loved this video Diane! I am also at an age where I'm caring so much less about the world's templates & so much more about what's truly important to me! It did take retiring 2 years ago to catch my breath, no longer exhausted at the end of every day & take the time for some introspection. It's really quite exciting isn't it? Lots of love to you and Mullen today and every day. ❣ Darcy

Winter is really one of my favorite seasons! Where I live, the summers are very long, hot and humid, which feels miserable! Winter, short as it is here in central Texas, is always a relief from the oppressive heat which more often than not, stays in the upper 90s and low to mid 100s, not even counting the heat index, thanks to our summertime prevailing winds coming from the southeast, bringing loads of humidity off the Gulf of Mexico for months at a time. So I truly enjoy winter, when I can settle down with my crochet hooks and yarn. This is when I make large afghans and blankets to give to friends and family. As they grow in my lap they keep me comfy and cozy as I think of which person it's being made for and the joyful times we have shared. Summers are for making small things like hot pads, dishcloths, & such. But winters are for creating the larger things that I would be sweltering under if I try to make them in summer. I've experienced 70 summers here, so ask me how I know! Ha ha! 😄 So yes, I absolutely LOVE winter! ❤❤❤

I have found, my mom was right! Worrying about what other people think of you or trying to do rights what's right for them, makes you live in bondage. The Lord does not want us to live in bondage he wants us to thrive and be happy. I'm really trying to learn how to accept who I am becoming as a senior citizen as a growing old woman. And there's so many things that make me happy and just happy in my own skin.
