The reason why Dimash is popular is because he doesn't sing in the one boring level.

It’s ok, the reason, Mostly ppl can only do one thing in one song but Dimash can do anything so even he just sang one style in one song but still marvelous.

If you research the song a little and put on the subtitles, you'll discover that this is a beautiful poem written by a man who's about to loose his wife to cancer. Dimash interprets each word with so much tenderness, sorrow and at the end pure desperation, mirroring the poet's feelings. If you'd done that...I hope your reaction would have had more depth and appreciation of how exceptional Dimas' interpretation was.

Sorry, it‘ s a wrong story. The song was written by Igor Krutoj and Valeria Gorbacheva for Alla Pugacheva, who just married Filipp Kirkorov. It was her forth (?) marriage and she wanted a song about happy love, which she was a long time waiting for. Sorry for my english, I hope it‘s understandable. 😅. If you‘ ll google «Любовь похожая на сон» Пугачева, уоu“ll became a few variants of Pugacheva singing this song from 1994 til 2019 or so. I think she is better, may be not vocaly, but she has much more different feelings there, happiness, sadness, irony...

I personally love that Dimash uses different vocal techniques, mixes genres up, and sometimes even in one song sings several languages. He always talks about uniting the world, different nations /peoples, and he’s uniting different music styles/genres as well. I find his music very interesting, much more “textured” than other types of music. It’s simply not your friend’s cup of tea and from your expressions you know this video will offend some people.

Dimash is on a mission: to assert that the lines between genres shouldn’t be so bold. To push against the music industry and do what he wants. He probably won’t succeed in revolutionizing the industry. But for some million of us his music is all we need. Splendid venom straight to our medullas

The song was called "Love is Like A Dream" and I take from this reaction that you were not following the lyrics or the feelings that Dimash was conveying, starting with the soft breathy dreamy parts (that you didn't like) and taking us through an angelic sequence, and powering out to a wonderful conclusion ? It is a piece of art and a superb one at that. I'm a little disappointed in your reactions and your interruptions at crucial dramatic points. It seemed neither of you were really listening to what he was doing, consequently your reaction was a superficial one. "Fireworks" ? He took us through a story and concluded with a beautiful dramatic moment that you chose to interrupt. I'm not at all disappointed in his performance. It was beautiful and as another reactor has said , he stays in character from the moment the music starts till the music stops. Its a shame neither of you were listening.

Hmmm, I am sorry, but the breathy notes are romantic. Now, I must critique the two of you...certainly, you just talk too much, and talk over while Dimash is performing! I was going to suggest the exact same thing and then I read your comment. They are allowed to pause at ANY time and they can even repeat at any point in Dimash’s song. Okay girls, whilst you are about it...Dimash's new song Your Love has just premiered....a great song of pure belting, constant modulations and high notes.....that should fit your brief, Linor. There are many beautiful 'normal' songs that Dimash does...they are just not crowd-pleasers because everyone wants to have the high notes only...... This is why i appreciate this song so much because Dimash has refrained from going to the 'place' that people expect from him...in fact, this was an exercise in discipline for him as a singer, and subsequently, an exercise in discipline for us as the listener....forcing us to enjoy the moment, the intimacy, for as long as it pleases Dimash to keep us waiting for the storm......

I am very happy with your reaction - you're showing very clearly that you can not be an artists - RESPECT is "the least" that a true artist gives to another artist - especially if he has chosen like you (!), to listen to him ! It is an honor to accompany him and learn from him - he knows, that he can never achieve his quality. But you - it is envy, isn't it? And you like to be simply "bad", right ?!

I know I’m a year late.. but linor I want to thank you genuinely for all your Dimash reactions, they are quite amazing, coming from a professional singer and vocal coach as yourself, enjoyed every minute, however your friend in this particular reaction video talks wayyy too much, ruined the whole vibe, I mean if she can’t appreciate the calm and the artistry before the storm obviously she doesn’t deserve the storm after all, and obviously she doesn’t even know how to count!!! So funny yet so unappreciative...

This song is actually a wish/prayer that the moment of love he is experiencing will last forever (a dream). So it's supposed to start really soft, almost a whisper, a thought. As desire grows for this beautiful experience, it becomes powerful and ends with a passionate burst of emotions. So to rush it would mean losing much of the song's intention. To choose this song for the "storm" is absolutely a wrong choice. His competition songs are there for a reason. I agree with you, Linor, that Dimash singing in one style/technique is very much limiting. That's the reason why he didn't accept being offered a position in Astana Opera, because he would be limiting what he can do. I've always noticed people trying to box Dimash in this one particular label, missing the point of Dimash's artistry in the process. I find it just so weird, it's like asking Paganini or Liszt to limit what they can do in their instrument.

Hahha soooo funny to see the kind of a shitstorm caused by, anyway you wonna say that, such a lack of kindness, touch and attitude. Not specifically about you Linor, but your friend ... LOL probably her heart and mind are too raw to understand such an original and genius composition! To the point of stopping exactly at the moment they were so disrespectfully waiting for :) but I am sure you got the mastery with which dimash crafts every single micro detail of what he does, PAUSES included, demonstrating he probably really is one of a kind! And tell your friend this respect and passion for details should be for her the first takeaway from this song :)

No need to be so catty. It's beneath you...and certainly Dimash. He would not joke about you. I cannot believe you cut off his end note. You are two artists...how rude. When you can get out there and command an audience like Dimash maybe you might have a leg to stand on. I'm just disappointed in you Linor. Your friend has been on before and was equally less than enchanted by Dimash. So be it. To each his own. All Dimash wants to do is take you on a journey with him. Doesn't any artist? Of course. He's a master o his craft. But he's also has acute musical instincts combined with a deep soul. Add good looks and fine character...and you have a beautiful package. We're blessed. Let him be #1 to his audience. If you wqnt a hurricane...listen to rock music. Dimash comes from a culture of courtesy, manners and affection and respect. NYC is a bit different. Especially the show biz world. I think Dimash is too nice for the west. He's just a great kid turning into a beautiful man. Charisma is something you can't train. I've heard Linor sing and was totally impressed. What a gorgious and rich voice. Dimash is changing the music scene a bit and there are young people listening to opera now. I think it's a time for innovation and a revisit to some of the best music every written. The opera composers...Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Elevate this world. Thanks for your reactions to Dimash. .

Josey Wales Honest objective critique is one thing. Chiding sarcasm and flip nit picking is another. High School mentality that reeks of petty jealousy. Not so much Linor ....but her friend. Her reaction to Sinful Passion in another video was bizarre. Regardless if you like the music genre..... you cannot deny Dimash’s performance as anything but unprecedented. But no, she is blasé and ho-hum in her reaction. If you ask me....if she really thinks that....she is no artist. She is an ego trip.
