This awesome. I really wanted to know the weight of the 245/40/17. Information on these tires is very limited atm.

Great info! I’m about to order the replacement for my supra which come with stock 255/40/18 tyres and CRS does not have this size. Now I know that 245 would fit perfectly.

Thanks for posting this! I'm seriously considering the 245/40/17 for autocross this season. Still trying to verify SCCA legality at the moment.
@NAUS2K3 жыл бұрын
They are legal, available in 4 different wheel sizes already from Phil’s tire service and more than 6 sizes

Couldn't find a follow up vid have you had a chance to try the cr1's yet?

Yes sorry im super behind on video uploads this year (as always). Ive done 5 track events and 4 autocross events on CR1s this year. Every single track resulted in PB's and I finished 1st overall at 3 of the 4 autocross events (only one running these tires there)

@@NAUS2K Amazing! thanks for the feedback I'll pick up a set now based on this and your vid was very informative. Your car is so clean btw I'm jealous

Your preference do you think the cr-s will hook well from a stand stall compared to your other tyres

What do you mean from a standstill , like launching in a straight line on cold tires? Drag racing? Or first out lap?

I have a 235/35r19 square set up. The tires are like rubber bands tbh I'm debating getting 255/35r19 I've been having flat tires almost every month it's getting to be a pain. Should I upgrade to a Federal 255/35r19?
@cw205mi163 жыл бұрын
AR1 tend to measure exact size for tread width, so a 255 will be 255 across the whole tyre, where many semi slicks tend to be oversized. Looks like Nankang have done this wider appearance with the cr1
@NAUS2K3 жыл бұрын
Yes the AR1 does look like a true 255 just like the RE71R

So if you had to do it over again would you just get the 255 on the 9” wheel after all?

Nope, 245 has been fast. Don’t regret it one bit , been through two sets of these now

Is 225/45/17 a taller sitting tire that the 245/45/17

No. with both having a 45 series sidewall, the 245 will be taller

Interesting... do you think a 245 ao52 is wider than the 255 Bridgestone?
@NAUS2K3 жыл бұрын
From what I have read, the 255 and 245 A052 is about the same as these CR1s , however the A052 is significantly lighter which is a huge advantage. They 245 is listed as 22 lbs. that’s 3 lbs per tire less if that’s true, I’d love to get my hands on a set to compare
@user11383 жыл бұрын
@@NAUS2K Looks like the A052 is going to be backordered for a while.

@mohammedalotayan1578 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comparison but to be honest when the car tires are used 10,000 miles and more when you compare them to another new tire that’s a little bit wider. It’s not a match do the same miles on the new tires in then you’ll find that the 255 is wider

I just picked up an S2000 and came here looking for any info on the CR-1, very happy with your video! Did you say you're running 255's on stock fenders? My car is rough and I will not hesitate to modify fenders, but from the limited research Ive done it seems everyone modifies their fenders and runs a bunch of camber to clear 255.
@Zilla9k3 жыл бұрын
Your going to need a roll and pull. Running them 255 squared.
@NAUS2K3 жыл бұрын
My car has zero fender modifications. 100% oem. I’ve been running 255 re71rs on my car for 3 years without issue. I am now running these 245 CR1s and also have no issues. I bet the 255 CR1s would have fit as well with possible Minor running of the fender liner , but the 245s have been super fast for me this year so I do not regret the decision
@blknblubkrdude3 жыл бұрын
@@NAUS2K Is that a result of camber I presume?
@NAUS2K3 жыл бұрын
I am running -2.5 deg in the rear and -3.7 up front with spoon offset lower balljoints. Yes the camber up front definitely helps clear the oem fender liner
