I have had Staurogyne Repens in my 29 gallon dirted tank and all of them completely withered away without a trace. There are so many variables involved.

Do you use tap water?? Have you tested the GH, kH of tap water or the aquarium?

Hi Will. Did you remove the duckweed at some point? I didn't see it in this video. Also how long did/do you leave your light on? Thanks Will.

Hi Rich! I didn’t remove the duckweed, it just hasn’t grown in that tank and has actually slowly died off. I feed the shrimp only minimally and don’t dose the tank at all so I suspect it has just slowly starved out. Whereas the stem plants have access to plenty of nutrients that’s locked beneath the gravel in the soil below. 😊

How many times can you trim these plants and leave them rooted before they die off? I'd imagine they have a lifespan of a few years?
@AquariumPlantLab2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question and I’m honestly not sure! I think they would last quite awhile. Each node below where you cut has a chance of sprouting a new stem or sending down roots. I suspect they would last a long time but would start to look pretty gnarled near the base. 🤔

For bocopa how do you recommend trimming it?
@AquariumPlantLab2 жыл бұрын
Just like any other stem plant. One or two nodes above the substrate level 👍
