You can't get much less scientific than allegory. Sarif was right about one thing. It's in our nature to want to rise above our limits. Think about it. We were cold, so we harnessed fire. We were weak, so we invented tools. Every time we met an obstacle, we used creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. The cycle is inevitable. In the past, we've had to compensate for weaknesses, finding quick solutions that only benefit a few. But what if we never need to feel weak or morally conflicted again? What if the path Sarif wants us to take enables us to hold on to higher values with more stability? One thing is obvious. For the first time in history, we have a chance to steal fire from the gods. To turn away from it now - to stop pursing a future in which technology and biology combine, leading to the promise of a Singularity - would mean to deny the very essence of who we are. No doubt the road to get there will be bumpy, hurting some people along the way. But won't achieving the dream be worth it? We can become the gods we've always been striving to be. We might as well get good at it. - Deus Ex Human Revolution

Nano-Augmentation: Pipedream, or Theory for The Future? By Hugh Darrow Excerpt from a paper in NeoNature, September 2022 We've been throwing the word "nanotechnology" around for decades yet, despite only our bests effort, we are only inching closer to that molecular-scale frontier when in fact we should be racing towards it. In the decades to come, the enhanced beings -- post humans who are our progeny -- will look at the mechanical devices we rudely bolted onto our living flesh or buried inside our grey matter, and they will mock us for our crudity. They will look upon what we have made with the same curiosity, the same disinterest, as the pilot of a veetol aircraft would look upon an ox cart. The future of human augmentation lies in the small - in fact, the smallest. In the next thirty years, the molecular frontier will be broken and true nano-scalar programming and biological reorientation will be possible. There will be no tedious instances of severing limbs to replace them with steel proxies. We will drink in these tiny machines, inject them - and be transformed. - Deus Ex Human Revolution

@Shake69ification5 жыл бұрын
No, and he admits otherwise, contradicting his own ideas. His idea about how nanotechnology will show us how things go from big to small is analogous to how evolution works. As to your claim about abiogenesis, I'm sure you have proof of that, right? I'll wait ... no? We understand how proteins can form and from there once we have the right building blocks, physics now says that with those blocks and the right conditions, life is inevitable. Has it been proven yet? I'll admit not, but we've identified a path by which it could happen. Further, we _are_ here, so life *did* start somehow.

@@TheMickeymental you made a claim, a positive assertion, that evolution doesn't work and I asked for you to back up your claim. You tried to move the goalposts by talking about abiogenesis, something I didn't ask you about. Evolution is not a religion, it's fact, supported not by opinion, but by mountains of research and evidence. Modern evolutionary theory actually enjoys greater empirical support than gravitational theory. Yes, there are far more atheists in the biological sciences than any other disciplines, and that should tell you something. The more we learn, the more we are convinced by the evidence that we are the result of natural processes. Are there still gaps in our knowledge? Of course. In fact, the process of how life began is one such gap, but one which are inching ever closer to understanding. At this point I must remind you that the idea of abiogenesis is *not* part of evolutionary theory. Evolution deals _only_ with the changing of lifeforms and the introduction of new species.

there are many kingdoms; for there is no space in the which there is no kingdom; and there is no kingdom in which there is no space, either a greater or a lesser kingdom. 38 And unto every kingdom is given a law; and unto every law there are certain bounds also and conditions. 39 All beings who abide not in those conditions are not justified. 40 For intelligence cleaveth unto intelligence; wisdom receiveth wisdom; truth embraceth truth; virtue loveth virtue; light cleaveth unto light; mercy hath compassion on mercy and claimeth her own; justice continueth its course and claimeth its own; judgment goeth before the face of him who sitteth upon the throne and governeth and executeth all things. 41 He comprehendeth all things, and all things are before him, and all things are round about him; and he is above all things, and in all things, and is through all things, and is round about all things; and all things are by him, and of him, even God, forever and ever. 42 And again, verily I say unto you, he hath given a law unto all things, by which they move in their times and their seasons; 43 And their courses are fixed, even the courses of the heavens and the earth, which comprehend the earth and all the planets. 44 And they give light to each other in their times and in their seasons, in their minutes, in their hours, in their days, in their weeks, in their months, in their years-all these are one year with God, but not with man. 45 The earth rolls upon her wings, and the sun giveth his light by day, and the moon giveth her light by night, and the stars also give their light, as they roll upon their wings in their glory, in the midst of the power of God. 46 Unto what shall I liken these kingdoms, that ye may understand? 47 Behold, all these are kingdoms, and any man who hath seen any or the least of these hath seen God moving in his majesty and power. 48 I say unto you, he hath seen him; nevertheless, he who came unto his own was not comprehended. 49 The light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not; nevertheless, the day shall come when you shall comprehend even God, being quickened in him and by him. 50 Then shall ye know that ye have seen me, that I am, and that I am the true light that is in you, and that you are in me; otherwise ye could not abound.

Psalm 49 : 10 For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others. 11 Their tombs will remain their houses[b] forever, their dwellings for endless generations, though they had[c] named lands after themselves. 12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure; they are like the beasts that perish. 13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings.[d] 14 They are like sheep and are destined to die; death will be their shepherd (but the upright will prevail over them in the morning). Their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions. 15 But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself.

Revelation 14:9-11 [9]And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, [10]The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: [11]And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Let's take every piece of evidence which can only emanate from a divine superior being and claim it does not. That does not bother me as atheists to this as a matter of course. Please do not tell me what to believe.

It's better that the great personalities like Darwin,Newton, Einstein, hershel etc had passed away otherwise they would have committed suicide by hearing these words,,,,, HE Himself said we shouldn't link the gap or void to the God but finally at the end he himself linked it to the God... 😂

he hasn't got capacity to think rationally. question to religious is, what purposes did God create living for?. if God is the laws that governed over universe without any influences, then religious might have point. but should also know that there is no judgement day or after life. laws of the universe are fixed, a dead star can resurrect in another dimension.

I wanted to learn more about nanotechnology. It's an amazing subject and can obviously make some things better in many ways. My concern is the likes of the pentagon working on nanotechnology. I fear it will then become a weapon against us. Scientists all start with good intentions, but it seems to be in their nature to see how far they are able to manipulate the science, ultimately to the detriment of society, individuals and their liberty. The smartphone is a good example of that.

I agree I’m here researching nanotechnology in CBD products but am hesitant because of the last few years and the development of these jabs Who’s to say they aren’t able to manipulate them once they are inside a persons body? I know God created the medicinal plants we need and technology can be good not not good in the wrong hands… I appreciate a Christian perspective on all things because we know the word of God states to ask for wisdom. Pray and discern first if we should partake in a product of procedure that may involve this … the Holy Spirit will convict us accordingly and if the person does pray against the enemies schemes HE will protect us No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the. Isaiah 54:17 🙌🏼 Thank you Jesus

DID you notice that the Lord says "LET us CREATE Man (Woman) in OUR imange + in OUR likeness" as ELOHIM properly translated means THE TRI-UNE GODS or the HOLY TRINITY...so that ELOHIM precedes Yahweh, the singular form.

Psalm 2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. Isaiah 24:21 | And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

A fine example of logic origami... one can fold ideas like paper to represent pretty much any warm and fuzzy treasured self-delusion. He says thinking about God as existing in the gaps is wrong because as we find explanations for "stuff" God becomes smaller... he is, how would you say it? Oh yeah... right! Then he goes off the rails with a complete disconnect, and says, with no explanation or supporting evidence, that God is the cause of everything... again with no evidence or support for that contention. This is not the brightest moment for a scientist to form connections where there are none... it's just warmed over fallacious arguments from incredulity and authority... and of course the evident gullibility arising from assorted points in space and time... including that which likely comes from the 4 to 14 window... really sad.

Creepy.Stewardship over Divine Creation is not the same thing as utilitarian objectification. What about non-Christans, former Christians, who believe animals and all living beings have Souls. Penentheism, God is IN all things, and ABOVE all things, Your perspective is archaic, parochial and very dangerous to us and all living beings,

Genesis mentions 'image' 'likeness' 'rule' 'over all earth' 'fill' & 'subdue' - & this guy reads that as indicative of nanotechnology or ANY technology!!! Boy oh boy! So he agrees that the missing links 'God of the gaps' is indefensible. Apparently is god is 'absolutely' involved with evolution - can he demonstrate he REALLY knows this as he claims? Nope otherwise God would be a known fact ALL scientists can demonstrate but none can -not even him.
