The writer Naomi Klein has taken a more personal turn with her latest book Doppelganger - exploring how she’s regularly mistaken for another writer, Naomi Wolf.

Naomi Klein was born in Montreal, Quebec, to a Jewish family with a history of peace activism. Her parents were self-described hippies who emigrated from the United States in 1967 as war resisters to the Vietnam War

I don't much appreciate the literary-media industrial complex set up in America, having grown up in the times before everyone you saw being consulted on the news had a book to sell. However I want to read Klein's book because I've been trying to get my head around her doppelganger's journey. I was vaguely aware of the Beauty Myth but really got acquainted with Wolf when she was on the "End of America" campaign that no one seems to talk or know about. That was quite a while before Trump and she seemed brave, willing to stick her neck out to talk about the shutting down of democracy in America. She was already making analogies to Nazi Germany but there was nothing to suggest a far-right affiliation. So by 2016 when the fascistic tendency became glaringly obvious to many Americans I thought she would be found railing against it from the safety of Canada, since she promised in the "End of America" that she would leave the country once things got to a certain point. What happened?
