Appreciate the kind words! I won't lie to you, it's unlikely you'll hear much about The Shield here. Have such a full schedule already. I will say, I remember borrowing the season one DVD from the library years ago and enjoying it. I also remember I was quite young at the time and could not believe what I was seeing/hearing (I still remember the shocking end to episode 1). But, I can't remember much beyond that haha. For the longest time, I meant to go back and watch more but somehow, 20 years passed and I never did. Anyway, so there's a chance I go back and watch more of it. In which case, you might hear some discussion of it on a podcast but wouldn't hold out hope for much more than that. Sorry to disappoint!

Glad I didn't watch this film, Gil. I'd rather watch Waterloo again. At least that had incredible battle scenes and Napoleon isn't portrayed like a spoiled brat. Wtf was Scott thinking?

Scott is a strange director… sometimes I get the feeling he undervalues the screenplay. It seems like he gets the idea to make an Alien prequel or Napoleon movie, throws a few ideas out there then gets someone to write the script and then he goes “ok good enough.” I’m sure that’s not really what happens, but that’s what it feels like
