The RTV set-and-torque tip is on the back of the RTV dispenser. That’s actually how you’re supposed to apply it but no one ever reads the instructions on anything. Many newly sealed valve covers love to leak like this at the corners. Good highlight!

Love your content mate, you are definitely doing a lot of people a good service 😊 The only thing I have to say is the lack of oil on the parts when sitting around. All of my parts live in oil through the whole process.

Hmmmm this video reminds me of reloading for a few of my long range rigs. I weigh everything from the brass to the projectile as well as the charge. With that said when your measuring such a small amount the scale becomes expensive. My scale was 500 and the unit that drops the charge was another 500 then I add a few billet pieces to the set because for aesthetic reasons bringing the total cost of the scale to around 1500 bucks. And my setup isn’t considered top of the line it’s more of a upper midrange. At any rate watching this process really has quite a bit in common. I suppose with anything in life balance is key.

Hi, why you did not use plate (with 3 bolts) for VVT in intake cam like last one? In 2:31:31 plate was missing. I love both of your videos on ITB and Turbo. I will take all advice for my build with supercharger.

I always over complicate it when i do rods and pistons , i try to mix and match the rods and pistons to get them around the same weight 😅.. long process .. i recon it would be a lot easier to just balance each part, tho . right on brotha , and that shim on the valve cover , i wish i could , but all polly and solid mounts, and im sure im not as balanced . i get some nvh 😅... but man , mad respect to the process, brotha .. peace and love all, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on..l8r famz and keep having fun fam 🤘🏽🤙🏽💪🏽✌🏽.. my only add in ,i put a piece of vaccum line over the rod studs when putting it in the cylinder bore , just for extra safety.. cuz i can be a lil recless sometimes 😅 saftey 3rd 😅
@greasebeardsgarageАй бұрын
Looked like he used bolts from the cap side. No stud in the rod to hit the crank. 1:09:31
@mastercricket7626Ай бұрын
@@greasebeardsgarage he did , but still won't hurt
@NappMotorsports3 күн бұрын
Balancing sucks too so pick your evil. And there’s rod bolts so nowhere to put vacuum line. I guide it through with my hand for safety.
@mastercricket76263 күн бұрын
@NappMotorsports facts, fam , and yeah, I know , I just figured i put it out there because my forged rods had ARP studs in them , I did see u had bolts .. I just figured it would not hurt to add in ... by no means am I imposing tho fam , you deff at the top of your game , and I have nothing but respect for you and what you have built (company wise , engine is top notch to tho ) much live broths and thanks for all ya do for the miata community my brotha ... peace and love, brotha, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on.. l8r famz and keep having fun guys.. ps I did still balance them , just did rod and piston together instead of separate , after I got them as close to matched as I could ... but yeah, like you say, brotha , pick your eveils ... that's a fact 💯

question - for turbos with flanged turbines like a 2560r, i've seen people claim to not run gaskets between the turbo and manifold. do you use one? for reference i have a 2560r and a kraken side mount manifold. no idea how flat the flange faces are milled from the factory.

I have a stock vvt 1.8 engine, stock pistons are 83mm, can i get 83.5mm pistons (20thou oversized) and put them straight in without any machining? Also what compression ratio pistons are you putting in here ?
@Birb_of_JudgeАй бұрын
You'd have to get the block at the very least honed to the right diameters
@sytorias7143Ай бұрын
@@Birb_of_Judge Fair enough, I'm running a boosted vvt BPZE engine atm, not sure if i should stick with standard bearing sizes or not after rebuilding and getting more power out of it
@NappMotorsportsАй бұрын
Like Birb said, you need to have it machined to fit. These pistons were 8.7:1 I believe.
@greasebeardsgarageАй бұрын
@@sytorias7143 Bearing size is going to depend on how much machine work needs done to your block and crank. Even on this build you saw him start with one size and then have to adjust based on actual measurements on that exact build. Sorry, but it isn't something anyone on KZbin can give you an exact answer to.
@sytorias7143Ай бұрын
@@greasebeardsgarage Im trying to get away with not needing it to be machined at all, its running completely stock on 14 PSI never misses a beat, maybe ill keep the stock pistons and find some rods with a 20mm small end that can handle more power then run it on E85
