Don't #1 Do not delay washing your hair. The longer you wait the more difficult it will be. Do detangle more frequently between washes. Even if its not a thorough strand by strand detangle, even a quick finger detangle will make it easier when you finally do go in thoroughly.

I have 4a hair. Detangling between washes does nooot work for me at all. That would mean unclumping my curls and causing them to tangle.
@NinaLady117 жыл бұрын
Carl Louis I don't have a defined curl pattern and my hair tends to tangle easily. I usually wear two strand twists and twist outs so whenever I retwist I do a quick finger detangle. It saves time on wash day by minimizing the amount of shed hairs.
@DriAA77 жыл бұрын
This is so necessary! If I wait too long, my hair gets matted! It takes FOREVER to detangle when it gets to that state. Never. Again.
@simpleeye79505 жыл бұрын
Yes! I try to finger detangle like twice a week when washing every 2 weeks. And once a week when washing weekly! It really really keeps the shed hair at bay and makes the hair easier to wash and work with.

I don't deep condition. My hair grew so much from keeping it simple and wearing wigs. I pre poo with coconut oil, use shampoo and conditioner, apply Shea butter on the damp hair, and twist my hair. Next day I untwist, apply a little more Shea butter to stretch more and put my hair back in twists. Then I wear my wigs. I finger detangle like every two weeks. Bout it. My hair has thrived from being left tf alone lol. I haven't deep conditioned in years. Water and raw Shea butter and finger detangling have really helped my hair. ❤

I know this is like SOOO old. I am just coming across this video. I have watched several of your videos now, and I love them. You are very real and down to earth. Loving the Lord makes you even better for me to watch and listen. God is awesome!!! Anyway, here are my two cents. I don't use heat for my prepoo or for my DC. My hair is naturally VERY high porosity so it absorbs these things very well. I avoid heat because I don't risk lifting my cuticles any more than they are already raised. This is working 'for me'. I heard, on the Green Beauty channel, that this is OK. I was glad to hear that because it was working for me. Just thought I would share that in case it may help another high porosity Sister. My hair is also fine, however, the porosity issue seems to be my biggest challenge. Coconut oil prepoos along with protein treatments have been working wonders! I'm retaining moisture much longer. Thanks for your great videos. Keep up the good work!

I have watched so many of these tutorials and appreciate all the knowledge that my wonderful black sisters are spitting. But, I found a commonality as to what is NOT being taught and that is...A LOT OF WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY CAN AFFECT HOW YOUR HAIR TURNS OUT. Drink water ladies. Moisturize from the inside will help moisturize your outside. Take a multivitamin catered to your lifestyle. I prefer organic MyLife or New Chapter brand. Vitamin E taken everyday can be your hair's best friend. Exercise is a wonderful stimulant. It gets that blood flowing which promotes healthy hair growth. AND eating fruits and veggies will do wonders no matter your diet. In conjunction with all of these wonderful tid bits to beautiful natural (or however you wear your hair), you will not only have healthier hair but also healthier skin. Much love to all of you beautiful ladies. (Cometologist/Stylist since 1993)🙏🏾❤

I just want to say that I love your videos SO much, and have learned so much from watching your videos. Ever since I was like 8 years old, I was always at the hair salon getting perms, micro braids, sew-ins, or crochet braids. So I never EVER learned how to take care of my own hair. But I haven’t gotten a perm in over 2 years because the last perm I got destroyed my hair, so I’m fully natural now, and I feel like I’m a baby learning how to walk when it comes to my hair (pink lotion was still popular when I did my hair lol lol) Anywho, your videos have truly helped me to understand how to take care of my 4c hair, and I can’t thank you enough for your realness and honesty.

I know you previously said in another video that eggs don't have a protein small enough to penetrate the shaft. What's a good treatment then? How do you know if you are protein sensitive, as well? lol maybe I just gave you an idea for next week's video. It should be all put in 1 video, if you think about it. Thank you for this one!!!!

Great Video! Thank you! Dos: 1 Pre-Detangle the day before (Steam or a spray with water & glycerin. Braid it up. The next day, I hide under a hat until I am ready to wash, praying I don't run into somebody fine.) 2. Cleanse- a sulfate free shampoo weekly and a co-wash in the middle of the week (Sorry Sis. :( I have a job that sometimes requires me to walk into nasty situations. Hair gotta stay fresh and clean). 3. Deep Condition w/heat and follow with another detangle. Fingers only. 4. Apply leave-in, let it dry ( Hair is a diva and she hates styling on wet or greasy hair.) 5. Style-Stretched such as braids, twists or some kind of roller set. Don'ts 1. Don't forget to do any of the above. The Result- A Tangled mess during cleansing, lots of hair and tears in the hair trapper, smelly, dirty, dry hair during the week, breakage and set backs. Also no shampoos with sulfates, conditioners as shampoo, or hair styles like wash and gos. Even what I use on my hair during the season (lighter products in Summer, etc.) and what I chose to condition or style my hair with makes a difference ( Shea butter must the 5th ingredient or lower on the ingredients food chain because we are not friends, just co-workers).No detangling on wet hair UNLESS I do it post-Deep condition because my hair is now pliable and will give a bit.

Love your videos! You are so funny but informative. If I come across some new hair info I will check to see if you have a video on it. Just cut out my locs and back to being a loose natural. So much has changed in 6 years. I am thankful for you vids.

Hi NappyFu I'm tying my hardest to transition to natural, but I'm having a hard time finding a hair regimen. It's so many products, do's and don'ts and heat no heat. Can't even find time. Love your video's !!

Girl this is such a good video, been watching you for while now and you’re so real with your videos and damn near hilarious. I just have one question, how do I lessen my damn fairy knots. They are messing with my mind lmao
@NappyFu7 жыл бұрын
Thank u so much!!! Well do you keep your hair stretched?
@chrissiengarachu96167 жыл бұрын
Yes with two strand twists most of the time, and I normally detangle before washing.

Trim those fairy knots from time to time it also prevents split ends .Then seal with oil.

Excellent advice. I tried blow drying n it sucked all the moisture out of my hair. Never did it gain. Was trying to do something about the tips of my hair. My hair is great until I get to my ends. Always tangled. Have put into action your hair care advice. Been natural 4 years now. Must twist my hair every night or it can't be comb. Have been told that some people have to do this because of their hair. My hair is very tight n the longer it grows the more tangled my ends get. Can't protective style. Edges sensitive n recently grow back. No wigs, weave, just wear my fro. Really enjoy ur videos.

I have the same problem with blow drying: my hair was super stretched but it was also a freaking desert lol. For your ends, maybe you need to trim your hair more often. My hair is very fine and tangles easily so I try to get it professionally trimmed every 6 months now. I don't do it myself anymore because I always do a terrible job lol (ends always looked worse than before the trim...). Also, maybe you can do twists as a protective style, it does not put any stress on your edges, and it's with your own hair.

thank you so much. i want to wash my hair in twist to avoid the process of (detangling) my hair, what do u think abt this idea. i use green tea for everything, wash and rinsing my hair. i diy my protein and deep conditioner. i mainly wash my hair once a week and sometimes every two weeks when lazy
@NappyFu7 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind green tea has caffeine in it so I personally think making sure it's diluted helps. Some complain it dries their hair out. So be sure to moisturize well. Or add aloe Vera to your green tea rinse
@NappyFu7 жыл бұрын
I personally use green tea in my spritz mixed with water and aloe vera juice.

Keetah hudson I wash my hair in sections. I don't see why twists would hurt. Just the product my take a minute to rinse out.
@trackstar77297 жыл бұрын
Keetah hudson- I tried that with my daughter and it helped a little.The other detangling tip for her was never detangling while wet. I would let it completely air dry then finger detangle. That helped a lot. What has helped her hair the most is As I am coconut cowash as her only shampoo and VO5 strawberries and cream conditioner. She used to have mats of clumps after washing but no more. Good luck
