I like that they finally did some justice to people like Kiki, the first two seasons where like a monument to Escobar and those guys, like they are some sort of heroes when they are not. This season gives us an idea of what real heroes do, Kiki gave his life for what he believed it was the right thing, and he outsmarted them, they just had more "muscle". In the end his story was an inspiration to those who wanted to make a difference.
@Dasanie6 жыл бұрын

_Chino98 well he was passionate about his job. You wish more guys like that in Kiki’s position would make such an impact that they’d go to the lengths of killing an American agent. Narcos Mexico really feels like it has grown up from a TV show to a film that is just split into 10 parts. The character building, story, etc. Is all done much better. When Kiki died and the news was delivered to his wife I truly felt for her. Also when Felix told his wife he didn't need her anymore that hurt me. And when pablo essentially uses the hippo as an analogy when he says " get between it and something it cares about, and it will bite you in half", i.e Mexico is between columbia and the US market. I grew up around this in the 80’s and 90’s less than 30 minutes from the border. My father knew Kiki personally and was on the DEA task force. Caro Q was a household name at my dinner table with two undercover detectives as parents. I remember the day Kiki was found dead, sad sad day. All that said, after ten years military, multiple tours to Afghanistan, poppy eradication as a private contractor, I played my part, but marijuana is the best thing to happen to my PTSD and depression from losing friends over bullshit. Sometimes I think I feel guilty given how I grew up, but weed has made a difference in how I sleep at night compared to the cocktails the VA was trying to pour down my throat. Kiki was a hero for his time, little did we know of the medicinal aspects of a plant, we only knew it as wrong because Nancy said so

I don’t think this season is necessarily better just because Mexicans can relate to it more. He was doing his job. His job was to catch and eliminate bad guys so that the rest of the world can be safe. Diego Luna gives a good interview stating every time you do a line of coke, think of what has happened as a consequence of your action. Who died in the line of trafficking, turf wars, etc. You can tell Diego Luna is very anti-Narco. He grew up and lives in this world

Very true the real guy was getting to close to the fire in a time that the cartels where very powerful and his agency wasnt protecting them enough.He should have kept flying under the radar instead he let himself be known and that got him killed.😥
@ck8916 жыл бұрын
Maura Isela He didn’t let himself get known. He was trying to go under radar (and successfully doing so). But he was completely left for dead by his own government.. He had SO much information on both the cartel and the CIA, that the CIA just got rid of him. Exposing him to the cartel and using him as cannon fodder. Knowing the cartel would torture him, due to his knowledge, they got what they wanted.

The first time i heard the story of kiki camarena i was "omg thats so fucked up what they did to him" but after i did my research and saw this series, i changed my mind. The man knew too much about the cartel, he was being too nosey and wanted to be the hero in mexico. He pretty much brought everything down on himself, he was no innocent man
@vickiduron72186 жыл бұрын
Mexico isn't the only county involved. Know any addicts in the US? Kiki was doing his job. He lit a fire under his bosses to do theirs and he got killed. Kiki had cajones.....big cajones.
@gotchabud30476 жыл бұрын
@@vickiduron7218 he did have cajones. I just believe what he did didn't help. In fact it made things worse because when felix arellano had control of the business everyone got along there was no civil war, they took the Guadalajara cartel down and now look whats going on? Theres at least 5 major cartels killing each other every day. I don't blame the DEA for doing their job, i blame the mexico government and the CIA but kiki was getting too close to them
@vickiduron72186 жыл бұрын
That may be true, but smuggling to the US is illegal and also caused us a lot of deaths. Hence the fact at one time Miami was the murder capital. Drugs bring crime. I am sure if all the drugs stayed in Mexico, there would have been no need for the DEA to be there. I often wonder, what the world would have looked like without the war on drugs. Can you imagine if there were no consequences? And remember, Cali and the Medellin cartel battled and never really got along. Greed drives people to not keep the peace....it would have eventually happened to Felix too. Someone always wants to be El Patron.

@straight left The man was doing his job. He gave his life to shed light on these unfortunate events that were being kept from the public eye. If anything have some respect for Camerena. He was trying to stand up for what he believed was right. For some of us it probably was a wrong decision of his part to do so. Unfortunately at that time he was trying to figure it all out. Easy for you or me to say he was dumb to keep pushing the envelope. Obviously, if he knew well before that his OWN gov't was behind a lot of this, he'd move differently.
@strawdawgs786 жыл бұрын
By consolidating all the plazas into one cartel and making the deal to move Colombian coke into the U.S. via Mexico, Felix Gallardo increased the volume of coke being moved, which increased the potential revenue/profits in drug trafficking, which increased the incentive for other rivals to get into the business, which increased the overall level of violence between competitors. Kiki was right in trying to stop the drug flow before it got too big and the cartel too powerful, but the U.S. and Mexican governments failed him. By your fucked up rationale every firefighter that died on 9/11 making their way into the twin towers doing their jobs "brought everything down on themselves."
