Once upon a time there were trees along those shores that held the soil together and replaced sediment loss with their leaves. Then came man and chopped all the trees down. Now the ocean eats the land and man stands and watches wondering why ....

Or home owners luckily to them and for some unexplained phenomena (wink wink) saw trees magically poisoned that blocked views. Happens on many coastal areas specially when there actually is civil land between the homes and the sea. Well they pay for it; trees and grasses and bushes are there for a very good reason.

Should never have been allowed to build right on the beach edge in the first place. Councils and state governments take note. There should always be a natural green belt, then a road, then you can start talking about building structures on the other side away from the beach/coast.

Owners take note. They are the ones that would often take councils to court if they knocked back plans. Isn’t it amazing how the public never want to acknowledge their responsibility

Remember the history. The ancient never built homes along the seashore. They lived in harmony with nature and knew its predictions shown in signs

The function of a wide shallow beach is to absorb wave energy and dissipate it through friction and turbulence. By “hardening” the beach the gradient is steepened, and wave energy is reflected rather than absorbed, increasing the rate of beach erosion. Simple physics that people refuse to learn, because the are attracted to dynamic environments. Mother Nature always has the last laugh.

The desire for a beach view is what causes such disasters. There should be a buffer of at least 500 metres between the beach and buildings.

Its interesting that only a relatively short section of the beach does not have rock protection and the old Pittwater Council ( recently departed) would not have done anything anyway should they have taken over that area .

It was Warringah councils responsibility and they did nothing about it? Pittwater is North of the Lagoon entrance.

Councils and governments are really just interested in property tax revenue irrespective of other considerations.

Let the home owners pay for all the remediation. They wanted to build there. It’s not rocket science huge storms hit and with huge storms, erosion. It’s been happening for millennia.

Do you even speak english? if so, why do you comment in portuguese? if not, you missed the point of the video. It´s not a fallacy, its nature`s doing its thing. And mankind getting in the way spoiling it... and then trying to fix it, spoiling it even more.
