Gentlemen, the colours of your boat are incredible! My wife especially loves them - she is Japanese as I have said before. The blue / greens of your boat, reflect the ukiyo style of Japanese painting. Maybe 3 years or so ago, we went to an exhibition in our city - Fukui up on the Sea of Japan coast. The artist was Hokusai - have a look - It was not merely the art and the use of space that blew me away, but the colours..... You two have nailed it!!! Just incredible! Aww we did panic after he fell in hence the harness (we managed to get one the colour of the boat too). We were hoping to cruise around for a while before we are stuck in the marina but we have heard today that the boat launch is going to be delayed. We are not sure exactly by how long and we are totally devastated. I had taken 2 weeks off work to allow us to get used to the boat so not sure how much of that time now will allow us to cruise. That boat is gorgeous! (I will say somewhere Shaun from Foxes is perking up as you mentioned buying bungs for the portholes... and I saw Mark’s Deck Well Pointy Finger cameo, too) So many bits starring Dexter this video - extra points! :) I half thought you might have him in his Vest for more acclimation time, and then I realized from your voiceover that this video segment must have predated his harness/vest, and then saw his green vest later (matches the boat!). I can’t wait to see what art you get up to once your onboard and get to be at eye level (duck hatch level? Whatever!) with the canal sides, although I figure for a while after moving on, you’ll be dealing with a million other things. I’d love to see you ‘artify’ the life ring :) And no picking on Antony’s driving - he got his helmsman badge, so you’ll be relegated to nothing but lock duty if you don’t watch it ;) And now he’s got the barge pole, he looks ready for Medieval levels of “crew management”. Can’t wait to see the tour and launch! So happy for you :)

Lol. Thanks Sean. Always look forward to your comments. They always make me smile and Dexter always gets an extra stroke and pat from you. Glad you noticed the coordination of the harness. Purely deliberate 😃. Paul has actually done a special art piece but can’t reveal yet. I have started uni again and am hoping the canal will be a great place to revise. We think the boat launch will be delayed for reasons beyond our control and we are a little down about it but hey ho. Things could be a lot worse. Dexter is always star of the vlog and I think he knows it. Thanks again for your continued support and lovely comments. It has brightened up a rather flat evening for us. 😃

Good morning guys! Getting really close to your launch. Will you both have some time to do some cruising before winter sets in? Loved seeing the interior of your new home and can imagine how cozy during the winter you will both be. Anthony you will have to share some of your favorite recipes from the kitchen once you get acclimated I think I remember seeing in one of the vlogs you like to cook and bake which is a favorite of mine to do on the weekends. Hi John. I am on annual leave for 2 weeks so we are definitely hoping to do some cruising. I do indeed love cooking and baking and using a gas oven will be a bit weird after all these years! I am currently on a keto type diet and have been trying out new recipes (I have lost 2 stone since January and 6” on my waist so am very pleased with that). Thanks again for watching John and Dean and hope you guys are keeping well. 😄

@@anthonysmith-storey9247 We had one on our narrowboat. It was just a hose point, that we connected a nozel too. Super simple but was a great idea for cleaning the dog before he makes a mess in the boat!... Was also good for washing the boat! Make sure you get a magnet too; just incase you drop anything in the canal, you can fish it out :)

Hi Martin thanks for watching. Do you mean from one end of the boat or one end of the country? 😉Depends on the number of locks or swing bridges. It takes a day to get from our marina onto the main branch of the Leeds & Liverpool and it’s just over three miles. Stay safe 💕
