Man I miss the OG Naruto. Orochimaru would have absolutely ripped Kakashi apart at that point in the story. Back when Orochimaru was actually still feared in the story and was the biggest bad.

I'm sure that later, in Shippuden, there is a flashback to when Kakashi, in the ANBU and quite young, tries to stop Orochimaru and already has the Sharingun and it is plainly visible to Orochimaru

Yes.... Naruto has lots of minor inconsistencies in it's plot... Kakashi is a savage.... I don't think he would let someone like Orochimaru go

there are a lot of inconsistencies in Naruto, like how the author described Hiruzen as the strongest Hokage and mastered all jutsu, but he buffed Hashirama later in the show. Hashirama was alive not even a hundred years ago but all the villagers described him and Tobirama like it was since ancient times, and how Byakugan was supposed to be on the same scale as Sharingan...

@@sumvivus6199 On a smaller scale, you can notice this in Itachi's Mangekyou appearing to be the same as the regular Sharingan when he first appears because the pinwheel Mangekyo hadn't been designed yet.

This was an Orochimaru with both arms intact. Im sorry, but when kakashi said "at least I'll kill you while you kill me" Orochimaru couldnt help but laugh. we are talking about a man who was elected to become hokage multiple times before Minato even became a jonin. he couldve killed kakashi six ways from sunday but chose not to because it would attract unwanted attention and noise.

to be fair... kakashi is within their tier. It is just that he was much younger than Orochimaru and less experienced in this scene so he was much weaker. Kakashi in his 30s is Hokage level ninja EASILY, and even surpasses Orochimaru.

Sure he could hurt him but he just wasn't enough to kill him. Shippuden kakashi got buffed but only war or maybe pain arc kakashi could have defeated orochimaru but before that... nah
