For example, if I wanted Temari and Might Guy to support each other, I would play as one and fight the other three times. It doesn't matter who wins each fight. And making every character support every character is actually required for one of the special S rank missions, too.

U can freeroam in the hidden leaf village and it feels more alive and full than the one in Ninja Storm. After I'll finish this, I will go play Broken Bond since I've heard that it's very good

Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 was my first Naruto game and it looked so good I HAD to import it. Still have it sitting on my shelf, actually. I think I was spoiled by it honestly, because it's one of the absolute best games in the franchise even over some of the Storm games. The combat can be deep and complicated if you really want to get into it, and some of the S-rank missions REALLY need you to be competent. Fighting all three of the Senin at the same time is one of the toughest fights I've ever played, and beating it felt incredibly satisfying. That game single-handedly instilled my love for Neji and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I actually completely forgot that Ultimate Ninja 3 on PS2 was technically the introductions to the bosses in these franchises, which became common, and much mor epic, in the storm games.

There are such easy ways to improve the Storm series: 1) Filler characters (AKA Konan) including movies and locations for stages 2) Able to change out your specials before a match (for example, setting Sasuke to use Chidori vs fireball even as an older version) 3) Customizable outfits, both the standard outfits, like colour swaps, and outright totally new clothes (like a Soulcaliber style).

A cool aspect from clash of ninja revolution 2, is that, if you pick naruto or sasuke and as their teamates naruto nine tails or cursed mark sasuke, the UA will only show one character. That is because when they are defeated they will transform into their upgraded forms, instead of treating both narutos and sasukes like they are separate characters. A neat touch if you ask me.

I know this is a very late comment, but something i didn’t see in any of your gameplay from GNT4 and forward was Y canceling. When your opponent is in a juggle, you can press Y to spend 1 bar of chakra and cancel any ending frames of your current move. So with sasuke for example, you can do 5bbbb(y) jb(y) bb(y) 2a and get a sick combo that normally isn’t possible. This mechanic is available from GNT4 through all the clash revolution games iirc

The Connections segment is interesting, it's probably the only positive review of connections I've ever seen. I'm more leaning on the negative side myself, but to each their own. My issues with it were the main story mode which was a heavily cliff noted version of the older storm games, which was already a heavily cliff noted version of the manga's story, and that it didn't even include story from the Boruto manga. You could complete the whole thing in just a few hours, which is way shorter than playing through just the main story of Storm 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Storm 1 even cut the Land of Waves arc, and Connections didn't. Another problem I had with it was the playable characters. There were some playable characters they included that were pointless. Namely the Boruto versions of Sakura, Gaara, Temari, Kankuro, Shino, Hinata, Kiba, Tenten, Rock Lee, Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, and Sai, who played exactly the same as their Shippuden versions, from their combos, to their Jutsu, to their Ultimate Jutsu, so it just seemed really pointless to me. If they wanted to fill character slots it would have been better to include other characters that have more potential for unique fighting styles, like the seven swordsmen of the mist, Pakura, Kinkaku, Ginkaku, and the Sound Trio from the Chunin Exams arc. Hell, maybe even Itachi from when he was in the ANBU, that could be interesting.

The first 3 Ultimate Ninja games will forever be my favorite and I would love a remaster or remake with the original soundtrack. I've spent countless hours playing those games especially since I had a PS2 up until like 2013 so I'm not far removed from them. Still go back and listen to the soundtracks and I might just get a new PS2 controller so I can actually play these games again 7:06 Lol literally starts off the section with the Tanzaku Town song, one of my top 5 songs as far as battle music goes. Revolution 3's shop was a grind, the way I grinded it out was one of orochimaru's missions that was fairly simple and gave a lot of currency. Makes me want to break out my old wii to play it again but idk if its worth the hassle 😂

@@Niosai I'm surprised you didn't mention the unique finish scenes in storm 3 and 4, (unless I missed it). Basically if you're say, playing as alive Itachi, he'll have the same finish scene, (as in, bonus scene if you finish a fight with an Ultimate Jutsu), against most opponents, unless you fight against certain people like Sasuke, where you'll get to see a unique finish scene.

So Clash of Ninja Revolution 1 its mostly a port of Gekitou Taisen 3, while Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 its an original release with a new story that's not part of the manga So i wanna be sure, Revolution 1 could pretty much be Gekitou Taisen 3, then Gekitou Taisen 4, followed by Revolution 2, right? Which means, did Revolution 2 was exclusive to the US? Like it happened with Kamen Rider Dragon Knight as well (pretty much just using the assets of Ryuki with new model from the Kamen Rider Climax Heroes engine)

@@Niosai I just expect every Naruto game in a video called every Naruto game. On a sidenote it seems like there are a lot less weird Naruto games like with Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball got a lot of weird spinoffs, but Naruto games mostly just stuck to what works and making small improvments to each game. But i guess the Naruto RPG series alone can make this video 5 hours or something and that would be far too long i guess.

I hate to say this, but I feel like you glazed the living hell out of Storm Connections' history mode. The English voice acting is bad, there's a bunch of cutscenes that are just screenshots of the anime, and worst of all there's several boss fights missing from previous games. I get that you got a copy from Bandai, but man you missed some opportunities to give some critiques.

Honestly, I definitely feel like my perspective is a lot different from many others because of just how many licensed/anime games I've played. I've seen some absolutely incredible games and some...not-so-great ones so I think my expectations and what I appreciate about these games has shifted over the years. That being said, I can recognize some of the criticisms of Connections, but I contextualize it as part of an entire series that still exists and is very much playable (as you can see from this video!) Like, I would absolutely love if Connections had every single cutscene from every single game, but I also have to consider how bloated that might feel, you know? Either way, I can understand the frustrations. The voice acting, however, was totally fine to me. I know there were some updates since launch, and I played this super recently so it's entirely possible that I didn't get exposed to the ones people took issue with. 😅

​@Niosai That's fair enough I guess. I just didn't really agree with your point you brought up at 1:40:55-1:40:04. Connections absolutely does not give all the context you need to learn the Naruto story and mostly just covers content that specifically pertains to Naruto or Sasuke. I mean, hell, one of the best and most important arcs in all of anime, chunin exams, is almost completely glossed over in this game. I know many people who played Storm 1-4 to experience the Naruto story, and while it isn't perfect, it's definitely a good substitute for people who don't have the time to sit through the entire anime. I absolutely can't say the same for Connections. It's just sideshow then battle, with a couple boss fights in between. No animated cutscenes besides the boss fights. What I do agree with you on is that it's definitely the best game in the series in terms of the battle system. It has more characters than Storm 4, everyone has 2 jutsus now, and the game runs at 60 fps on next-gen consoles. If you only consider the PvP aspect, I'd say this is the best experience by far.
