After I read that explanation about the Uchihas and their emotions, I became an even bigger fan of Itachi, 'cos after killing his entire clan, friends and family, he didn't became a second Madara, he kept his cool and continued with his espionage mission, even after finding out that by using his sharingan so much he had become ill. Hands down, Itachi, the best.

The reason why itachi didn't become evil is that sasuke is the person he love and in episode 359 itachi say to danzo: "if you as much as touch sasuke, i will pass on classified village intel to every enemy nation" and lord third promised itachi thet sasuke will be safe. So if sasuke was kill, itachi will be the next madara or worse kaguya!

This biological reason for the Sharingan never made sense to me. Earlier in the series, gaining the Sharingan was treated like an achievement among the Uchiha. People praised Itachi for "unlocking" it so early and Obito was eager as hell to get his. If it's caused by losing someone precious to you, then funerals would just end up as mass Sharingan unlockings, and someone could technically go until they were 30 or older until they got their Sharingan even if they were to most naturally skilled shinobi in existence.

Gearfire we've seen it on the show that sasuke's sharingans were unlcoked during Haku's fight when he's struggling, and it gained a tomoe when he fought Rock Lee. Obito's MS was actually first unlocked when he's crushed by the boulder, that's why the eye remained intact cos it went intangible, thus Madara's remarks "as if it slipped through the rock"

Kishimoto made it very clear that the only way to get the MS was to play a significant part in the death of a loved one.

Gearfire yes, but he re unlocked it, not because of someone died, just because he desperately needed a power boost. His sharingans also matured at VoTE when Naruto was having the upper hand. Madara's EMS evolved to rinnegan, not because of someone died, because he's dying, and it's emotionally stressful

Itachi wasn't the only noble Uchiha, Sawyer... You also had Kagami Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha. I think Tobirama based his offensive ideology about the Uchiha on mainly Madara & all his kinsmen when the Senju's and Uchiha's we're at War. I feel as if he thinks still by those personal experiences. This was all uncalled for. The moment the Uchiha's agreed on joining the village, they we're actually generally all great people. A testament to this, was when, the Uchiha's voted for Hashirama (a Senju) to be Hokage, rather than Madara... They we're all loyal to the village. Tobirama segregating them, knowing that they're supposedly the most sensitive Clan out there, was just foolish.

I think my favourite part of the episode was Minato sensing Naruto's chakra. The impact behind that realisation must have made him the happiest man alive. The one thing that the other 3 failed to do that Minato did right was die for a specific reason, with a goal in mind and having it come to fruition. In this case the safety of not only his son but the whole human race.

This episode would of been even better if when Lord 2nd sensed Madara he also sensed naruto and the ninetails, I would of been a good chance for Minato to say that its his son and for sasuke to finally meet narutos dad and further his bond with naruto, because we all know sasuke never stopped thinking about naruto since he left the village. It would of also then been cool for Hashirama to say something about naruto controlling the ninetails because his wife couldn't even full control it.

I'm a Hashirama fanboy too Sawyer; he's definitely my favorite Shinobi by far. I appreciated this episode on so many levels and it's a nice parallel to what happened in the manga yesterday with Black Zetsu. I don't think Tobirama believed the Uchiha were evil though, he knew they had the capacity and extremely high likelihood of becoming "possessed by evil" due to their unique physiology. He even notes that there were some good Uchiha (AKA Kagami, Shisui's father) who surpassed the boundaries of the clan for the greater good of the Village. I believe Itachi inherited Shishui's will and Shishui inherited Kagami's. One might even say that Kagami was directly influenced by Tobirama, being that he was one of his subordinates prior to his ultimate demise by Kumo's Kinkaku Squad. Tobirama was obviously influenced by Hashirama but he went about it in a more pragmatically duplicitous manner which was wrong but understandable given his past experiences with the Uchiha. Definitely my favorite episode/chapters in Naruto, love the history lessons, high scale action and humor. Great review!

Sorry but you're wrong. Tobirama did separate the Uchiha and gave them a piece of the city on the outskirts and responsibility over the police force but they could've lived peacefully and proven him wrong. He didn't do anything inherently cruel to them and he was right. They are dangerous. Madara should've died a martyr when Tobirama was about to kill him after the fight but guess who was weak. Hashirama and guess who came back to fight Hashirama again. yup Madara. Hiruzen was also weak because he turned a blind eye to Danzo far too many times. Tobirama had the strongest leadership skills at doing what needed to be done. it was the other hokage who sadly didnt follow in his foot steps. Minato also said he was weak for other reasons. Being nice is great and all but some times you need to be tough . Tobirama was able to be tough without over doing it like Danzo. Tobirama also did not think that all Uchiha were bad. He states that he knows Uchiha can be good like Kagami. He was just aware of their tendencies. Also the edo tensei was not meant to be used for evil. it isnt his fault kabuto, obito, and orochimaru used it for bad things. he basically set the canvas for many things but he didnt do anything bad. it was the good people failing to act against evil that allowed bad things to happen

If the Uchiha are emotional sensitive, then why would tobirama segregate them? He may have done this to prevent the uchiha's from losing their way. However, segregation of a group of people from the others can lead to an uprising (like the civil rights movement). After segregation, people can be isolated and this can have an impact on their behaviour and feel neglected from society and become anti-social as a result of the building resentment against society as a result of being isolated.

Ever since they introduced Madara into the war though, it's been one awesome episode after another. Even the Kakashi Anbu Filler Arc was good. If i remember correctly it's shy he chose shisui's father to become part of his team, for he knee that he was different. He later states that like him his son and itachi must have followed suit and tells Sasuke to be like them and not the next madara . So he didn't die thinking they were evil. He knew shisui father was different and good hearted.

I think Tobirama makes it clear he does not like the Uchiha, and does not see them fit to be in the new ninja world. I think every decision he made was influenced by that way of thinking. Since birth he was taught to be against them, and he never evolved from that way of thinking. The result of this being the Uchiha planning a coup because they felt as though they were being oppressed. Now i believe this could have been resolved more peacefully by both the Uchiha and the elders of the leaf, but just like in reality it doesn't matter what i believe. When it comes to right and wrong action, it only matters what the majority believe and those with the most power and influence. They create right and wrong, or at least they think they do, and people follow it because more often than not it pays to be in the majority and on the side with the better chances, regardless of what you believe. The overall point i'm trying to make is that if you exclude other people's point of view, and put your own as the end all, be all, when you are in a position of power, people will start to feel oppressed. At that point it doesn't matter if you try to tell them their feelings aren't justified or even logical, they are already there. They will eventually manifest, and more often than not that manifestation will be in blood, violence, and war.

Agree, Tsunade does not have enough charisma or is strong enough to be the hokage. Specially compared to the other 4. Jiraiya shoud have been the Hokage. In my opinion even Kakashi has more charisma and be a cooler Hokage than Tsunade.

Tobirama did not die believing all Uchiha were evil. That is inaccurate. He mentioned that they were some Uchiha members who had a different mindset for the rest, such as Shusui's father. In my opinion, Tobirama was the best kage as he knew and did what needed to be done.He gets blamed for creating a techique? Sure, blame the sage of six paths for having two children!
