Nas should make more lounge rap. I don't even know if that's a thing. But the sophistication and relaxedness of this song reminds me of lounge music or some chill cafe background music. Such a great song, a career highlight for him in my opinion. Not many rappers releasing those 18 years after their first album.

Such a fantastic groove. I only heard it a week ago and I was entranced immediately. Amy Winehouse's vocals are haunting behind that smooth groove and Nas nails it with his positive rap. What I like most about this video is the way they've projected Amy on to the wall. She comes across like a legend - an untouchable, if sad, spirit presence. For some reason, while this track is amazing, when the vocals first kick in a feeling of sadness washes over me. Maybe it's the way Amy sings it, or perhaps the lyrical content of her piece which suggests she can't find her perfect man. RIP Amy. A true tragic talent.

This song got me through my first heartbreak. I was devastated and at the time this was the one song that made sense. Made me realize there’s someone out there better for me. I thank Nas to no end for that.

Nas is undoubtedly the most underrated rapper of our time, people don't give him the time of day for some stupid reason. My music playlist wouldn't survive without 10+ Nas songs.

+Chris Demosthenous I love the shit out of Nas, but he is not underrated. I have yet to find a GOAT discussion where he isn't brought up.
@jolty95409 жыл бұрын
He's definitely underrated in today's terms of what is good and what is not. Almost 3 quarters of people under 19 don't even know who he is. That's what I meant by underrated, he certainly isn't underrated in talent.
@julianbell91619 жыл бұрын
Chris Demosthenous I think ***** made a good point. He is one of the few relevant 90s rappers. How many 90s rappers still drop Billboard #1 albums? Nas, Hov, and Eminem. Sure, he isn't as popular as a garbage rapper like Drake or Wayne, but he, unlike almost every 90s rapper, has found a way to remain relevant.

They made this after amy passed and Nas talked in an interview about how they had to use pre recorded scenes and voiceovers to fill Amy's parts and when he was asked about the album he had visible pain in his voice and said how he wished she was still there so they could finish it. It breaks my heart.

This ain't lounge rap. This is Nas on the sophisticated tip. But these crumb snatching rap fans who like Young Thug,Tyga,and Future wouldn't understand this type of Hip Hop. The whole jazz / hip hop movement with Guru,Tribe Called Quest,and Digable Planets had this vibe.
