When he mentioned the not paying tax again was the straw that broke the camels back, nasa refused to oblige and the earth as we knew it came to an end. Srry for ruining the ending everyone

Still find it ridiculous in this movie they train drillers to be astronauts instead of training astronauts to be drillers.😂😅
@echomjp6 күн бұрын
Well, it's mostly just for the drama and comedy it brings at the end of the day. A bunch of crazy drilling types getting sent to space is more interesting than a bunch of astronauts learning how to drill. Though even in practical terms they do explain it in the movie pretty well. These aren't just regular drillers - they are a team organized by probably the greatest driller in modern times. They also have very limited time, and since drilling is considered the important part of their mission when in space it makes more sense to train them to go. Besides which they do have actual astronauts that go to space as well with them, so it isn't like they put all of their eggs into one basket.

Don’t say that to M.Bay, ask affleck 😅
@amk49565 күн бұрын
Not as ridiculous as you would think… An oil driller is a profession that would take the better part of a decade to master, and it’s not like the drillers had to be trained astronauts, they were just passengers that had to be physically capable of surviving the journey… I would argue would be far easier to find fit Well drillers then it would be to find astronauts capable of mastering well, drilling in less than two weeks
@1337penguinman4 күн бұрын
It's actually not uncommon these days. They either call them mission specialists or payload specialists. Basically regular old civilians with a specialty that get a crash course in being essentially an astronaut passenger.
@toohda4 күн бұрын
@@amk4956a driller would take 5 years to train? And you think astronauts train less? And you say “half a decade” to make it sound longer lol You’re a joke

@MoltenFungus actually... lol... it was 824 billion and change, which is closer to 750 billion than 1 trillion. But even if it was 900 billion, that's equally between 3x and 4x 250 billon. (There's always someone who needs to argue. 😆 🤣)
