Born in 1969, I really hope that I see light speed travel and visits to local planets in my lifetime

Photon propulsion(engines), and emw engines are within our grasp, so too sail tech. Interstellar travel is now but 'death' rays are a problem.

seems that if you found the right compound or substance in the M-Drive and it was excited in a fashion or rhythm, that it would work, especially in space on thiner air, theoretically at least ?

Elon Musk's team at spacex came up with the faster than speeds of light engine first, and had it verified by scientist who monitored a craft with the engine travel from Earth out to the edge of the galaxy and back to Earth in only a couple of hours recently. i am in the year 6096 mind you

---- < Funny. if Einstein's time dilatation theory is true, there's no reason to think the process would reverse time on a return trip and I'm not sure how we could know that the "faster than the speed of light" travelers would not end up in a totally time expended universe.
