To be clear, I don't like the Clint we have as a commentator, he's either super low energy or playing the fool that Fox wants on their broadcast. Don't get me wrong, I think Clint could do a much better job if he was just himself and not a character of himself. At least we don't have to deal with it until next year.

Stage brakes are more of a manufactured yellows for commercial breaks. They show a ton of commercials during the stage break.

Pretty dumb comment to post on a road course race this year. There's not a caution at the end of a stage on road courses, just stage points awarded. Stages on ovals though are done to bunch up the cars more than to show more commercials (they still show commercials all through the race).

Stage breaks were introduced a few years ago primarily to bunch up the field on ovals to create a better and more interesting and tighter pack racing product. It undoubtedly tightens up the field. Whether or not that makes the racing more interesting and better? ... That's a heated debate.

Just the weight savings alone would be good for 4-5 seconds per lap around a road course. Aero and the fact that it's making more power than the cup cars would mean that the garage 56 car would lap second place in 20 laps
