The race you are about to see appear as originally broadcast and may contain imagery that is offensive and doesn't align with NASCAR's values. NASCAR has since permanently banned the display of the confederate flag at all events.

Lots of legends in these early 80s races.

Some say '81-'87 is peak, alpha Nascar. Hard to argue...look at that list...thats just the legends that have passed.

The cars, drivers, commentating, engine sounds, camera angles....ALL OF IT was at its peak. The best NASCAR ever was and I'm glad I was alive to see it.

It’s such a shame what super speedway racing has become. This is such exciting, interesting, compelling racing. Love watching these old races.

I’ve watched this replay a hundred times, still amazes me how much better the racing was then than now.

@@richwoodland4985sadly the young kids that Nascar panders to, are all about stages. Young fans actually think today is good racing ..

RIP Cale Yarborough doing what he is remembered best for, driving a finely tuned machine to the front of the pack and to the win. Godspeed and thanks for the great memory.

He was certainly one of my absolute faves. Always a threat to win.

Unreal how much I love nascar and yet I don’t even bother watching new races.

You're not only one. These new cars are slow and ugly. The drivers are boring and bland. The racing is dumbed down.

I remember back when I was a kid growing up during the 70's. Richard Petty was my favorite driver. The #43 car was so iconic and incredibly cool to see run! I'll never forget when I got my Richard Petty AFX/TYCO slot car. I collect, or I used to collect Hot Wheels until my health declined. About 4 or 5 years ago I started working on a Nascar collection. I really wish that these Die-Cast companies would focus on some of the classic cars. Like the 1980's, specifically 83-87, or the 1970's as well. The Petty Dodge Daytona "Super-Bird" was one other top cars! Being able to watch these races from the 70's and 80's brings back some extremely great memories. Thanks for sharing these races with us. For me anyway Nascar was at it's best from 1972-1990. I still enjoy Nascar now but the cars basically look the same, and the few things that make them different is really subtle. I will say that they improved the 2024 cars over the last few years, but still not much better however. I definitely subscribed to this channel and I'm looking forward to seeing other 70's, 80's, and 90's races. Man the 70's and 80's had some really amazing, iconic, incredibly talented, and very aggressive and fearless.

The music they use during the driver introductions is the same used for WWF prime time wrestling back in the 80s with gorilla monsoon and Bobby Heenan. I knew I heard it before

@gary24fan2 ай бұрын
I think they used to turn the gauges so that the needles were all pointed in the same direction if everything was normal, so the driver could just take a very quick look, see where the needles were at without trying to read the numbers, and then look back to the track.
