Clint is right on with his comment. This is one of the stupidest ideas NASCAR came up in a long time turning pole day for the Daytona 500 into this boring "we all wait til the clocks run down and then try to be lucky to get a good draft on somebody for a fast time" nonsense which they call qualifying. It's so stupid really, especially where there is already the dual races for setting the rest of the field apart from the front row, so this qualifying format was unique already. Idiots!

And those that do like this stuff are a very small minority who probably wouldn't have enjoyed NASCAR before Brian France took control.
