My husband and I were in Nashville this last week. It is one of our favorite cities in the country, and we travel alot! We stayed for a few extra days and helped volunteer with Hands On Nashville. Words cannot express how this wonderful community has pulled together and helped each other out. You all should be SOOO proud of yourselves and being Nashvillians!

I'm just blown away. I'm a BMI writer and spend a lot of time in Nashville. I was just at the Opryland Hotel in March, and to see the pictures and videos of where I was just standing literally leaves me speechless. Nashville is a special place, with special people. God bless you all and we will continue to keep you in our prayers.

My family and I went through a flood here in Kansas about three years ago. It didn't do as much damage to our total area, but we had water to our roof at our house and lost a lot of stuff that has sentimental value. We felt the same way you feel now. I will pray for you folks, and I wish you all the best in recovery. Your message on this video is what America is all about, rolling up the sleeves and dealing with life as it comes. I wish you all the best, God bless you all.

Thank you for expressing so well what many of us who live here are feeling. I am grateful for dry clothing, and dishes without mud in them, and for the safety of my neighbors and the spirit of this wonderful place. To those who say this story has been on the national news, I would only say that the flooding rains started Saturday morning, but the national media didn't really report the story until Wednesday. I have lived in Nashville for 20 years -- there are simply no words for this ....

Thank you ... Nashville is "home" for me ... Living on the outskirts of what I've found to be the Greatest Big Little City in the Nation ... I have lived coast to coast ... and I feel "home" now ... I was raised just south of here .. and as a little girl, it thrilled us to "Get to go to Nashville" ..... I am shocked .... and in awe of what I've seen in the past few days ... And I dont think I've ever been so proud to "be" a Nashvillian! ..

Excellent job, ExpressionsByMisti. I teared up a little as I watched this. Yes, I am heartbroken for the great losses experienced by so many and to see such damage to places I have always known and loved, and yes, I feel it is an injustice to receive so little attention from the media, but I am just so incredibly proud of the unity, resiliency and efficiency I have personally witnessed from day to day this past week. We can take care of ourselves and each other. Damn right, we're Nashville.

I live about 5 minutes from downtown, and I am student. The flood happened the day before we had state tests, and we got out of school for a week. we only had about 4 inches in our basement, so we were considered lucky. I have classmates who lost everything. The week we were out of school, my school, Glencliff High, went out and helped tremendously. It was amazing at how much the flood affected EVERYONE I know. It's hard to see the city i call home be damaged so severely.

Thank you for being the America I remember. I'm crying as I watch the video, not so much for what you have survived, as horrible as it obviously has been, but because this is the America which made me proud of being free. Now, when America seems so divided and at odds with the principles of self reliance and independence which once defined us as a people, you have given this American reason to hope it is not too late to stand up tall against all the floods which face us. Bless you!

Thanks for posting this! I used to live in Hendersonville (on Saundersville Road, btw) until 2006 when a tornado erased all nine buildings from my place. I got no help from FEMA, United Way, no help from the County nor the City, nor from the numerous local fundraisers for storm victims. A disaster has much greater impact and has longer recovery than people realize. Once you're off the news, people think you're OK. Nothing could be further from the truth!
