something handy regarding the print screen issue, while its not a fix its just something interesting. I've been using WIN + SHIFT + S for a while now and I much prefer it over print screen button.

Great tips on the power manager. How long have you had this laptop? I've been using this XPS for almost a year now since, my only issue is the sleep mode, my laptop just doesn't go to sleep properly, when I close the lid or press the power button (both actions are configured to go to sleep), it seems like my laptop is still running as I notice the fan keeps on running. I thought it was a way for the laptop to cool itself down, but when I wake up the next morning, my laptop fan was still running despite putting it to sleep. My worst experience was, after putting the laptop to sleep, sometimes the fan will stop and turn back on after a moment, I did not realise about this and put my laptop inside the bag only to find out that my laptop was already over heating. My temp solution is to put the laptop into hibernation instead of sleep. Have you experience this sleep issues?

I've been using for about 7 months now and I didn't have sleep issues with it. Windows is a problem though, as the settings don't really match. I usually wait for it to really sleep first then close the laptop lid. Not an elegant solution but sleeps for sure.

@@NasiLemakTech I looked this up on reddit and most comments are like you said, Windows sleep have a new behaviour or newer laptops. I did try waiting it to go to sleep, but everytime I press sleep, the screen will turn off, but fans keeps running forever no matter how long I wait... Really hoping for Windows/Dell to provide some solution, considering the XPSs are not cheap.

You can contact Dell for support as their aftersales is excellent. For my case, I realized that if I click shut down immediately doing some intense task while the laptop is still hot, the fans will kick into high gear and will cool itself down to certain temperature before shutting down completely.

@@alex.maxwell Not really, however after several Windows 11 updates, the fan seems to work normally when I pun the laptop to sleep. But the annoying part is, I have to wait for the fans to stop completely before putting it in the bag, just to make sure that the laptop completely goes to sleep. So as of now, I no longer have the overheating issue when putting my laptop to sleep in the bag. Also, you need to be careful when charging the laptop while in sleep mode, it will produce heat and the fans will continue to run. I learned about this the hard way when I put my laptop to sleep and plugged in the charger while the laptop was in my bag, the laptop ended-up overheating. So if I need to charge the laptop while it's closed, I'll either shut it down or put it in hibernation mode. This is still an on going issue with XPS device according to some threads in reddit, including the latest version (9510) of XPS.

Great video! I was wondering if you could externally download Dell Update, SupportAssist, Dell Power Manager, or Dell PremierColor. I got an XPS 9520 and did a clean install of windows 11 because I was having some technical difficulties and did not save any of these applications. Can I somehow get them again?

Does dell power manager have a battery limiter? Because that's the only thing that actually has an impact on extending battery wear.

if you are considering the wifi 6e card replacement on the Dell XPS 15 9500 being described online and in KZbin it wont work because the killer chip is soddered to the board and looks nothing like the one being shown in any of the videos. Which actually sucks.....and is not even mentioned in this video

Thanks - and I have not heard about those issues before. So far, this laptop is serving me well too. For formatting, yea I personally prefer to format it clean and reinstall the way I want it to be, then pick and choose which Dell utility to install.

Yes, this is the latest XPS 15 that is currently available in the market - the XPS 15 9500. If you're not urgently in need of a laptop, I suggest you to wait for a month or so - presumably, the new XPS 15 9500 with 11th Gen Intel Core processors will be coming then.

I have an issue after uinstalling Waves Maxx Audio my headphones are not recognized and the sound doesnt trasport through them. I wonder if you experienced something similar, if yes do you have a solution? I already tried updating all sound driver, bios driver etc. Nothing helped, if I want to plug in headphones I need to have the Waves app installed.

Hmmm... The audio switching should be handled by even the generic drivers from Windows Update. Else, you'll have to download the Realtek HD Audio driver

Great video. HAve thje same laptop as yours. I noticed that if Dell premier color is active on sRGB mode, it has a problem of color bending in darker areas. Have you solved this in any way? I have to use SRGB because its color accurate but the experience is ruined by the color Bending.

Ah! There's is a reason - it's faster to hit Alt + Print Screen rather than hitting the win + shift + s keys to take screenshots of a particular window

Win + shift + s is a one handed thing, (might be able to set it up to do quicker screenshots) tbh I use sharex to do my capturing as it auto uploads and gives me a copied url automatically

Or simply Windows button + Print screen button key together will do the same thing. Pressing the print screen by itself will be sent to One drive for the cloud.

I'm not sure. The one shown in this video works fine on the XPS 15 but I'm not sure if it'll work on the XPS 17 due to its weight. I guess it should? But I can't guarantee it.

The battery gets charged upto 100% in the primary AC use option in dell power manager option. Is it ok to use the laptop keeping the power cable plugged in when it has a 100% battery level?

You can select it to use primary AC and it should be fine.

Hello Nasi! Great work! My XPS 15 9510 keyboard lights don't stay on and instead auto dim after a bit. Is there a way to toggle them to stay on and still be able to turn them off when not needed?

I think what you're referring to is the keyboard backlighting timeout. As far as I know, that is not possible to change in the XPS.

You can actually set the keyboard to stay lit always in BIOS. Restart your computer, press F2 key to enter a BIOS settings and there you can set the keyboard to be lit all the time or for some period of time.
