I know your comment is from a year ago but I’m watching this again for motivation. I’m a white dude and Nas’s music had helped me get my life back on track in the past. I know I can’t completely relate to all he says but I do on allot of levels. To me, this man is the true G.O.A.T. Been a fan since the BBQ days. One love.

Love this man so much. Bought his tickets to the Royalty tour in the Woodlands/Houston Texas. I was 18 and broke but I couldn’t sell or giveaway my tickets. Instead I sold my PS4 at the pawn shop for $130. Got a room, Gas for the trip and food to drive there. Best day of my life. Love you Mr.Escobar 💪🏼

I had just turned 18 when Illmatic came out. I'm from New Orleans and we were heavy into our "bounce" rap. Nationally, West Coast rap (Dre's Chronic, Snoop, Cube, etc) was killing everything. An older homie asked if I had heard a cat from NY named Nas. I hadn't. We jumped into his ride and BOOM...this brother's music has been with me since then. Through my growth and setbacks. My good. My bad. My smart. My stupid. My books. My streets. My solo prowl. My family man swag. Nas' music has grown with me and many others from our generation. Salute to you brother. It's been a great ride...many more miles to go. ✊🏽

I love that man. As ignorant as this may sound, Nas basically raised me. Father wasn’t around so he was a father figure to me. Each album was like a map, a guide or like a bible to me. Everything in his music resonated with me living in NY. I never rated his albums because like I said they were maps, filled with knowledge. I owe this man for the successful, level headed, woke, respectful person I’ve become. I never met him but thank you just in case he ever reads this comment. Thank you

Nas is truly the greatest lyricist and mc of all all time. I'm from Bmore and i remember back in 94 I used to not even really listen to hip hop much. Because i felt it was not alot of substance in music that I think and rock too until Nas came with illmatic. I have been a fan ever since. True Nas fan! He should get the same if not more props that Jay Z gets but people like to dislike truth. But fuck it Nas the best!

Covenant Government I consider myself part of his core fan base and I didn’t like that album at all aside from a couple tracks. He was sooooo off beat on multiple tracks and just sounded plain dry and uninterested all throughout. I love the majority of his projects but that just goes into the bucket with the few I don’t like such as Nastradomous, Streets Disciple, I Am, and Life is Good. I don’t think Nas really cared about that project, and if that’s the case he shouldn’t have done it in the first place. He didn’t show up to rap.
