I've learned to LOVE chasing Pike in the kayak since I started fishing in Maine in the summers. Such a great fish. Have never pulled one through the ice though. That looks bit challenging when they get up there in size. What a great sunset on the ice! Twizzlers! YUM! That's a nice, neat hut setup you have. And a TON of gear! Lots of work, doing what you do! I've never seen a rattle reel! You're hardcore!! Wow that weather!! What a mess. Those ice cracks would make me nervous as all get out. Glad you made it out safely.

Hey thanks so much for the nice comment. Maine is on my bucket list of states I want to fish. Pike are a blast. I have a very love hate relationship for them, I love fishing for them but when I’m not targeting them and catch them I hate it haha. I’ve lost to many of my favorite lures to small pike.

That means everything Keith, I always try to make every video a little better than the last. Hard to do right now with the weather we’re having. It’s way to warm here in Minnesota, I’m sure your way to familiar with warm weather though so I shouldn’t be complaining hahah

For an overnight ice fishing trip what size of battery are you running for your live scope? Are you bringing more than one battery? Thanks for the help. Looking to do an overnight this year and want to be prepared.

I went solo ice camping this past weekend. The good thing about soloing is I don't pack any food. I ate breakfast saturday from the gas station at 6am and didn't eat until 2pm getting gas heading home. It's the best way for me to fight not having to #2. lol
@NASPELTZ
@NASPELTZ 9 ай бұрын
Haha I totally get that, idk, I’ve ice camped so much I’ve trained my body to wait till I get home, even on 2/3 day trips. If I can bring the snowmobile I always try to pack some food, some times I don’t know if I’m staying 1 day or 4

Otter vs Eskimo ice shelter what’s better in your opinion. Good video glad your okay
@NASPELTZ
@NASPELTZ 9 ай бұрын
It all comes to preference, they are both amazing tents, so far I haven’t had any issues with either, I do also have a clam flip over I forgot to mention in the video. The eskimo 4-5 person has more fishable area than the otter 4-5 person. But the otter is lighter.

I’m so busy I don’t have time to watch as much KZbin as I used to. I’ll try to watch some of your recent ones asap

Wow that was an experience with all that rain....I think u should drilled some drainage holes around the tent may have helped abit for the floor water...anyway better fishing luck next time😉
@NASPELTZ
@NASPELTZ 9 ай бұрын
I actually did drill a few holes around the tent that went almost to bottom to fill up. Didn’t seem to help much and I didn’t want to drill a whole lot in case it affected the ice.

Honestly I wouldn’t really say I get mad at much, I can defiantly get upset at times but it’s mostly at little things in life that don’t matter, like people driving under the speed limit in the left lane. But mostly I just enjoy life, even when I’m not catching fish being on the water and especially ice camping brings me peace, it’s my happy place. A lot of the time I turn the cameras off mid trip and just relax and fish in silence. I love fishing and I love what I do. Hard to be upset when you fishing. I do get excited a lot though especially when musky fishing, sometimes I’m just to focused on the video to show off my excitement. Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Means a ton

Why do you not say what lake you're on 🤔👍 ice fishing houses came a long way from my glory days. Back then you putup a "tent" on the ice they would have laughed you off the lake...it looks alot easier setup. I grew up in Foley MN. but i left the frozen tundra behind. I now live in south east Oklahoma in the hills off the grid & loving it. Great flick
@NASPELTZ
@NASPELTZ 9 ай бұрын
I was on Mille lacs, I said the lake in the intro but then the video went nothing according to the plan and I didn’t end up putting the intro in the video because well, it was supposed to be a walleye ice fishing video. And that didn’t happen haha. I also don’t usually say the lake name unless it’s a well known lake because like me, a lot of other people have spent weeks, if not months grinding to find good lakes and it would be unfair of me to burn their spot. Tents have defintly came a long way over the years

I said in the video I checked it multiple times, I left at 2 in the morning to get there and it said the storm was not going to hit the area I was going. By the time I setup around 8 I checked again and it said it was going to barely hit. The weather apps don’t know anything
