It's easy to say no when you go to Nassau, Bahamas with no money in your pocket. The Straw Market is the one place no one needs to visit. You should have gone and spent a fun day in Atlantis Aquaventure. That place is fun!

Next time you go...hop the bus to Fish Fry or Junkanoo. Walk to Queen's Staircase to burn some cals. Take your kids to the pirate museum or the slave museum. Or take a taxi to the aquarium at Atlantis. Don't sight see the straw market. Buy at least 1 thing if you go through it. But there's so much more to do.

What we did is just like spend 10 /15 min at the market then go straight over to atlantis then back to the ship well senor frogs then to the ship overall had a wonderful amazing time

I have been to Nassau a few times and if anyone tries to sell me something I don't really want I just say thank you, I am just looking around right now and they usually leave you alone until later on, but they don't remember you being there earlier so just again thank you, I am just looking right now, I have bought a few things, but it was something I really wanted that I knew I couldn't get anywhere else

Played golf at the resort nice course but wondered why was their a fifth teen foot high fence around the course. Plus on top was razor wire. Well went outside of resort then seen why. Everywhere was basically panhandlers begging and chasing.

I went there with my wife too on Oasis of the seas and we said the same thing it smells, the people were just pushing to hard to sell. I understand that they are trying to make a living but you should not make your customers feel uncomfortable . Like Cozumel its very nice and clean and not so pushy.

They do this at Santee alley in Los Angeles, you just have to look and not touch or they will keep talking your ears off and pressure you.

I hope you gave them the riot act for talking inappropriately to your daughter. If anyone tried to talk to my under age daughter that way, I would rip them a new one! But thank you for showing us what it's like here. Its definitely a place I wouldn't want to go. I hate being pressured and bothered like that. Don't get me wrong, I know how to say no, I just hate having to do it constantly like that. It pisses me off and ruins my fun. I'd probably stay on the ship and have fun there :)

But I think that the salesmen and women in the straw market are using a tactic to sell as much as possible. And one of those tactics is to make you feel bad or feel guilty if you don't buy anything. Like when that saleswoman said, "I really need a sale right now", is probably something she says to everyone to literally push them into a corner, to make them feel bad if they don't make a purchase. I hate when salespeople do that. Personally I just ignore pushy salespeople. If there is something that I really wanna buy, then I buy it, and sometimes I even try to negotiate the price, because that's part of the fun when you go into places like these. But as soon as a salesman is starting to use dishonest tactics or being pushy, then I just walk away, because it's soo annoying.
