Aglio Olio is one of the easiest traditional pasta dishes to make. This Aglio Olio recipe only uses a few basic ingredients such as olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, and spaghetti.
Even with just a few ingredients, this dish tastes amazing!
AGLIO OLIO SPAGHETTI WITH PRAWNS ( 2 Portions )
5 Cloves of Garlic
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
125g Spaghettii ( ½ Packet )
½ Teaspoon dried chili flakes
150g of peeled and deveined prawns
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
½ Teaspoon freshly chopped parsley
Parmesan Cheese

Method:
1. Finely slice the garlic into very thin slices, the thinner the better. Use a sharp knife.
2. Boil 5-6 liters of water and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Pasta must be boiled in a lot of salty water. Add in the 125g of spaghetti. Cooking time is 8-10 minutes depending on the brand of pasta.
3. Once pasta is cooked, drain and set aside. Keep ½ cup of the pasta water for later.
4. Heat some Extra Virgin olive oil in a pan and add in the garlic slices. Cook under a low flame.
5. When the garlic starts to turn a very light brown add in the chili flakes.
6. Add in the prawns, do not over cook. Just until th prawns turn red.
7. Now add in the spaghetti and mix well.
8. Add in a little bit ( 50ml) of the pasta water to make some sauce, if you like more sauce put a little more water.
9. Add in the chopped parsley and mix.
10. Now season with salt and pepper to your own taste.
11. Pasta is ready to be served. Best eaten immediately garnished with a bit of parmesan dan a slice of lemon.
