Some days, you're on the mats thinking about taking over the world and other typical things when it hits you.
You haven't been truly evil enough today.
You hit that wrist lock earlier, that was evil.
Right?
If you're like me you suck at the North South Choke. That's actually really common. So when you get there in the future, you can try one of these 2 options from North South when the choke ins't working for you.
The first is a simple Punch Choke variation to the traditional north south choke. It's very important to pay attention to the body positioning and the weight distribution on this one.
The second option is absolutely the most brutal move I know. It's a spine ripper. Full blow neck crank. 100% catch wrestling style goodness, but with an extra touch of bmac evil. The Dragon Sleeper with the Body Triangle. aka The Executioner aka The Epstecutioner aka The Johnny Buck Death Machine. lol
I've never seen anyone else do it with the Body Triangle before so I'm anxious to get your feedback on this one!
Use this move carefully and if you're Johnny Buck you can just stand up with it like he tries to do with every other submission.
We recommend not doing that though because you should never believe anything ever told to you by Johnny Buck.

Tried it today. Tapped my partner with the punch choke before I had a chance to move to the executioner. Thanks for the detail of the knuckle in the neck; I think that's why I've been having with that technique.

Hello Brandon, So, N°1 is the "punch choke", and N°2 is "the executioner" right? Thanks.

Almost identical to a technique I was shown once…to kill someone, literally. Definitely be careful with this one, it might be best left out of your casual repertoire; but save it for real combat. Just my O

I'm so interested in trying to incorporate this into my side control game. I have one question though, for sport Jiu Jitsu, how legal is this move? Is this considered a neck crank? I'm fuzzy on which tournaments allow cranks and which don't and I don't want to spend time working on moves that aren't legal or are things that my teammates won't have to worry about defending again when they compete. I know there aren't any rules in a street fight, but I'm solely focused on the sport side right now. The Bas Ruten choke is one of my favorite moves ever, but I stopped using it because I was told it was classified as a neck crank and I wouldn't be able to use it in competition. I hope that isn't the same case with this.
@brandonmcninja
@brandonmcninja Жыл бұрын
It’s DEFINITELY illegal in most tournaments. But it a neck/spine crank so any place that’s legal is cool
@SeditiousJerk
@SeditiousJerk Жыл бұрын
@@brandonmcninja Thank you so much for the quick response. Let me ask you a stupid blue belt question - if you only use that motion to initiate the back take and you don't make any legitimate effort on the crank, would that make it passable in a tournament, or a training scenario?

@@SeditiousJerk If you have the position, just finish the north south choke. There are fine details to it. It's best if someone that knows what they're doing shows you. I learned it on my own from forums and videos, but I've also been training a long time and understand how principles carry from one technique to another. I've shown the way I do it to several black belts, and none had seen the finishing details I use. If you do it correctly, it is a VERY clean, very tight choke and won't crank AT ALL, but will put you to sleep very quickly. IMO the best videos I've found on it are by Marcelo Garcia and Jeff Monson.
