@@cvrpovawesome video, mate. I love pov closeup shots of the dents and the pulling of the dent and watching it pop out is so satisfying. I'm sure your good looking and all but I come for the dents not a fashion show or music festival like some other youtubers who speed it up or put terrible music over it. I'm just about to buy one for myself to get into more serious dent repair and collision damage as panels are so expensive now and I think if you can save just one door your well justified charging 300 for the repair plus paint as some doors or bumpers now are upwards of 500 plus paint.

Hello mate, quick question, I’ve seen you use a 3hp 90 litre compressors, all the ones I have seen require 16amp or don’t recommend using 13amp / mains and even if they do allow they definitely don’t recommend extension leads, how do you get around this being mobile? Do you use extensions with the 3hp machine? Any tips? I want a belt drive machine but the whole 16 amp thing and no extensions is a bit of a problem being mobile
@cvrpov
@cvrpov 3 жыл бұрын
I know certainly the abac one i use is fine on 13amp and runs off extensions. The extension must be fully wound out and not left half on reel etc else it overheats them. I find having if the comp is running then only use x1 heat lamp at a time. Fan and electric blow heaters Inc oil rads trip out when used at the same time. Most guys use a 100 or 90 litre compressor and always on an extension but I cant vouch for every brand and model etc

I do this for a living and got to say you use exactly the same guns as I do even up to your spot welder altho I bought the 3500 version but was surprised you didn't use the shrinking rods, to get the high spots down after pulling the dents out, really not knocking your work as I thought you did a great job, but on some modern cars the metal is so thin and the more you grind away it can become too thin, which in its self can create problems , and the initial paint grinding down with 120 grit adds to that, try using grinding floppy discs to take away the paint without taking the metal down, love the way that you say you should have scotched the panels down in the start I am so guilty of that one but yes it makes so much sense, in your blend areas do you use an aerosol blend out thinner or do you use a blend out through your gun? the reason I ask is that i tried aerosols didn't like them what I do is buy a ltr tin of fade out thinners and just empty my clearcout gun leave a little clear in there drop a bit my fade out thinners in with it then more control and instant shine less polishing probably not needed and it will melt through to existing clearlove your work if you need a job hit me up lol.

Hi mate. This channel is about showing people how to repair their cars cosmeticly and find ways to do DIY stuff aswell as some useful hacks I've learnt over the last 15 years. I am by no means an expert in dent repair and am primarily self taught! Any tips are welcome and I will look into the paint shrinking you mention. I've heard it discussed before and know a few pdr and panel guys who have mentioned it. I am still getting to grips with the gyspot but think its a fantastic bit of kit with more potential than I know about yet! Thanks for the comments and watching my video 👍🏼 Martin

Lovely repair. Im no professional but i have done a few bits like this myself. I think the blending fluid is something i will look into. That has been a nightmare for me in the past. Chasing the repair out to a defined stop on a door shut or trim line, having to do more work than i should. But in saying that...2 or 3 times a year I'll repair a dent or re spray something for friends and family. But kit and paint supplies...if i only i could go back and tell my younger self to leave big boy filler and halfords spray cans alone 😂 U-Pol, 2k, compressor, and a half decent gun changed everything.
