This song is a profecy about these times of Covid-19. We pass now between verity and falsity. Our world is now in fire. I admire your voice and feelings. You vibrate with the powers of the Dakinis (celestial Messenger). Greetings from Madrid and long life with contentment. Brava, Brava y Brava.

I am usually not a fan of female vocalists for some reason, but Natalie is my absolute favorite!

"I don't have the gift of the prophecy, tellin' everybody how it's gonna be" And then she proceeds to employ that gift of the prophecy to tell everybody how it's gonna be. She recorded this shortly before 9/11/2001. Coincidence? Listening carefully to everything she's written for the last 30 years, it's clear the Muses have gifted her with truths that even she, with all of her natural talent and intelligence, may not understand as she writes. Natalie is a world treasure.

How profound... Sure gives food for thought. And my God...that freakin' voice. So powerful. She stirs so much emotion in me. I don't believe many understand her.

Love this. One of the great USA artists' of the last 30 years or so. Played in Germany and we come to a notable date in the next few days the fall of the Berlin Wall on Thursday 9 Nov 1989. It was Natalie M who told me that the wall had come down at a 10K Maniacs gig at W'ton UK around 1045 UK time . How the years pass

Reggae on a banjo 😳😯🤘🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️😎 Now I seen everything!
@brahmafria3 жыл бұрын
Not reggae, but an eastern touch to it... I think the banjo here tries (to great effect) to emulate the turkish long-neck baglama. Turkish prog-psychdelic rock from the seventies is something worth discovering.

you don't see vocalists like this anymore, most have to have the lyrics in front of them, not Natalie, she also writes her own music!

Maybe worth having a listen to Rhiannon Giddens. She is also awesome.

i've seen natalie with erik on several occassions...that's how the ending is with this song, even in detroit when she played, new york city, boston...same ending.

There's another almost identical looking performance of this at the Rock AM Ring, I believe. I think it is the better one, though I don't think Eric DeLaPenna (sp?) does that banjo solo.

@FoxIslandman I saw a new song here on KZbin, something like "Dancing Bear".
