I loved watching this. Also, it's so interesting to see the covid measures in Korea. Here in the Netherlands we have waaaay higher covid cases (went from 1500 daily to 3700 daily in a week), but literally everything is open and masks are not mandatory anymore.

Minute 20:42 there is this part of the sentence "낭의하 (and then there is this "snake" thing what is that, how do you read it. I was just wondering if you felt that learning Chinese first made learning Korean a lot harder? since you are mixing up grammar structures, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc. I wanted to start off learning Korean but my school doesn’t offer it😔 btw. I’m currently attending Texas A&M! I can’t believe you came to school here such a small world🙈

I think learning chinese first would be fine. In my opinion chinese is the hardest of the two and after all there are chinese characters used in korean. At one point in uni I was learning korean and Russian and at the same time remembering Spanish and it can get confusing but I think it’s good practice that helps you realize that translating in your head isn’t the best way and it forces you to really change the way you are thinking.

I’m a KIIP student right now and my classes are also all online. Tbh I’m sooo sick of online classes. It’s so much harder to focus IMO. It doesn’t help that all the material is on culture and society (for level 5) which tends to be a little boring (the content is stuff like insurance and welfare…important but not fun haha) so I get distracted soooo easily 😭

Hi! So i went through the website of Korea University and saw that KLI classes are like divided into 8 levels, right? And from what I've understood, each level is like 3 months. So if I decided to study it starting from the beginner level and finish it, it would make up for 2 years right. So if I decided to study it for 2 years, am i eligible for dorm there in KU? How much does it cost?
