I enjoy your outlook on life. I'm 70 yrs. old and probably all my kids are older than you. But it's so great all that I've learned from you. Even though you are so much younger than me. My husband and I moved into a newer home about the same time that you all moved into yours. I have struggled with getting rid of 50 years of clutter. This home is way smaller than our last home. So I've really needed to get rid of a ton of stuff. Watching your show has really encouraged me to rethink what I really need and want to keep. It's caused me to reevaluate where my treasures are. Thank you for that. I'm excited to see your new kitchen. I pray that our Lord will bless you and your family in your new home. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I love your perspective on “stuff”. In a world that pushes us to consume and always want more, you always make me pause and rethink my life and blessings. Thank you for that Natalie. I’m so excited for you and your family to make beautiful memories in your new kitchen. Blessings to you!

I love your thoughtfulness about reusing and donating cabinets that you can. Too many times I see cabinets being broken apart by a sledgehammer when a donation could help a family. Blessings to you and your family!
@NatalieBennett
@NatalieBennett 3 жыл бұрын
Many times you’ll see people using sledgehammers because unfortunately a lot of cabinets are stick-built versus modular built. When they’re stick-built there’s literally no way to preserve them assembled together and much of the time heavy duty glue and hardware is used to build them together meaning they have to be taken apart piece by piece or destroyed in order to demo them!

Let's play a game: How many things will Natalie declutter when she puts all the things back in her NEW kitchen? ;) I love how you keep finding things to give away, Natalie. It inspires me to keep on decluttering without feeling guilty about passing on stuff that I thought I needed but actually don't.

I feel the same way! My husband and I recently bought our first home, and I constantly just sit and look around in disbelief of how blessed we are to be able to buy a home and have a home we love. I am also constantly delcuttering! Haha I can’t stand having things I don’t use or can’t find. It’s such a relief having a more essential collection. But also have a few of the fun non essentials. 😄

I can’t wait to see the new kitchen! It’s going to be gorgeous, I just know. On another note, I remember when I moved into my first apartment as a single mom. I had moments where I felt I didn’t deserve to have a cute place, with an ocean view. It was true, I didn’t deserve it. That’s the beauty of God’s gifts that He bestows on us. We don’t earn His gifts. He gives freely because He loves us. God has blessed you with this new home, and I hope when you look at it, you are reminded in a tangible way that God loves YOU Natalie! ❤️

I really gravitate towards your advice. I hate my kitchen because it's very tiny. I am in a condo. My hubby and I can't afford to redo the kitchen. It's the size of most people's bathrooms. It's so tiny. I make it work. I make it function for my needs. I do the cooking in our house. For me, I have to have organization, function, and pretty all in one. I want to be happy. If I had no color in my life, I swear that my life would feel so sad. I am a very happy person and color makes me feel happy. I can appreciate what I have and will hold onto things for years because I take care of them. I also don't need much to be happy either. Thank you for reminding us of all that God has to offer. He really has helped me this past year. I look forward to seeing your new space. :)

This video humbled me before God so much. We recently purchased a similar house, 2000s home with lots of quirks and updates to be made...and I often find myself telling my husband why arent we making decisions already, come on we need to fix this house, etc. Even while watching your videos being struck by comparison and ungratefulness for our situation. A very ungrateful attitude. Hearing you talk about how this kitchen served you and being brought to tears by thankfulness, I heard God say "Im humbling you". Dang!

When me and my husband moved into our first house last year I felt the exact same way. Growing up we both never lived in a house...so it was so surreal. We worked so hard to get to where we are today. It definitely is an eye opener to see hard work pay off and to really be thankful for every phase you've been through in life cause it brought you to where you are now. 💕

We start a complete gut and remodel of our kitchen in March. Our home was built in 1963 and my husband and his family moved here in 1967. The cabinets are all original to the house, and there have been several different counter top upgrades. The kitchen is out dated and not very functional. I am so excited, and I understand the imposter syndrome. This will elevate our home and we are blessed to be able to do this!

The past year I’ve been learning the whole “bring me joy” and what it means for my life. I’ve been decluttering stuff that I’ve been hanging onto for YEARS because it was gifted or handed down to me and I just have no desire to own it. It takes up space! I’m finally finding joy in my house!! (It’s only taken 11 years 😂)

You inspired me to do a big declutter this past weekend, and it felt fantastic! I watched all your closet clean out videos and then tackled my own! You helped me feel brave enough to let go of clothes from my old professional life that I was hanging on to out of fear. Now I feel refreshed and am focusing on who I want to be right now. ♥️I love your heart, Natalie. The Lord has blessed your family, it’s hard to let go of the negative comments and judgement, but there will always be those who do that. We have been in ministry for over 30 years and we always were careful that we didn’t live out of our means and always helped others, personally and help take care of the churches needs as well, but there was always someone who had an opinion about us. (My husband also made good money with his business and we use that to take care of our needs and not become a burden to the church, even though, he was the senior pastor. Soooo looking forward to seeing your new beautiful kitchen! Praying blessing♥️ God Bless

We have been waiting for a better time to remodel our kitchen based on the fact that contractors don’t have enough crew to deliver completion on reasonable time frame. You walk His path for you. My husband has an opportunity to retire at a young age. This is thanks to his years of sacrifice and work and an unexpected blessing that we originally thought was a negative!!! He feels like you…. How? What did I do? Hi Natalie, I'm a Christian sahm. I'm new to minimalism. Started about a year ago when I started watching Sarah Therese. It definitely changed my life. I feel mentally more stable and feel that I have time now to spend with the Lord and my family. I recounted weekly and still have plenty to get rid of. I have gotten rid of half my kitchen and my cooking has gotten so much better. I love ninja! We have a ninja coffee maker, and ninja blender. They're used daily I our home. I stumbled upon your channel a month or so ago and binged so many. You're an inspiration and your videos are so calming. I watch them while I clean and my house has never been cleaner! You are not alone in your emotions! Compared to now, I've felt that I have lived humbly, and I have had moments where I feel like I don't deserve the life I was given for today. However, it may be a bit of a gift, but it also was due to hard work for life's improvements. At the same time, when we make something new in replacement for something old, it is to help the next generation live a better life.

You deserve a new kitchen! Especially a functional safe kitchen. I appreciate your humble heart in everything you do. Thanks for the motivation to check in with what I really need but also leave room for joy and be peaceful with that. My husband and I bought a 1970s fixer upper and still have our functional and safe 1970s kitchen 7 years later. We had a harvest gold tub and toilet, stone sinks shaped like shells, and carpet underneath the bathroom sink that were priority number 1. Then we had two kids which slowed progress significantly. Looking forward to you making this house a home for you (however fast or slow).

Hi Natalie, I am fairly new to your channel but I have to say thank you for sharing everything even the emotional part because we all feel emotional at times and not everything is perfect like we see on social media all the time. May all your dreams come true 💗

thanks, natalie! my husband and i bought a fixer upper and gutted our kitchen but we didn’t do any of it ourselves. i am impressed with you guys! i get the feelings of overwhelm. it is extremely emotionally taxing living without a kitchen, but it is so worth it. the results are gonna be amazing! keep your mind on the goal. also, good words about minimalism (and faith!). i’ve always thought of minimalism as letting go of what you don’t want or need. no one can tell you what you want or need. that’s clearly subjective. there’s no place for judgement in minimalism, so, you preach it, sister!

My favorite kitchen item is our wok. We cook Indian food and stir-fry dinners in it mostly, but almost anything can be made in it. My second favorite is the crock-pot, I love to cook soups all day!

You are deserving! Happy for you !!! I am still using my 60's kitchen with no dishwasher but I am so happy for those that can remodel to their liking....some day maybe I will be deserving too :) Can you tell me how you clean your stove? I am on the struggle bus with mine...it is a gas stove and have tried dawn power wash with no luck.

Looking forward to seeing the kitchen being installed. So excited for you. In the better weather could you do some more filming gardening and seeing your land being remodelled. Watching from the uk I love to see the weather you have and the wildlife and scenery xx

This is timely, I was literally going through my mugs today trying to figure out which ones to keep or let go of. There are really four that bring me joy even though I tend to reach for a certain one. One of our cabinets has the glass front doors & I just love looking at them even when not in use. 😁 So I don’t need 12 mugs, but 4 is a good balance. 😉

Your excitement is infectious! I’m using the same decluttering method for when I move, thanks for showing how to do it live! Always keep a grateful spirit, God has blessed our lives with so many miracles, and He knows you’ll be a good steward of all the worldly possessions. These items will assist in making a house into a home ❤️

My husband and I are both minimalist and actively work towards staying minimal. Lately we have accumulated more than I like because life happens 🤷. I love how you mention the glass mug vs tumbler because my husband is a new recovering alcoholic and he really enjoys drinking regular drinks out of liquor glasses. Yes, he could drink out of a regular glass but he says the others make him feel like his "normal" self.
