They actually talked about doing a third one, where they'd make it a crossover with Men in Black, with Jonah and Channing joining the MIB. Like, to the point where they had a script and everything, but obviously it never came to fruition. Not sure exactly why, but I'm sure the MIB reboot with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson completely bombing didn't help. Tatum said last year that there was still a chance they might do it, but Hill has also said it's unlikely to ever actually get made.

What helps make this sequel SO great is that it’s also a parody of these types of movie sequels (which is what also makes the ending that much funnier). There’s so much meta humor, but it also never forgets about developing its characters and making you care about them. Fantastic movie.

Fun fact: There was going to be a crossover between Men In Black and Jump Street, all those "sequels" would've also become canon. But the writers couldn't find a way to blend the franchises together, basically saying that the MIB universe is too limiting to fit Jump Street in it.

A collab I did not expect (I've been watching both of your channels for a good couple of years or so now), but definitely welcome! I would have loved for them to have made more of these, maybe just one more, get that trilogy thing done, but yeah, there's always a worry that it'd go too long and lose what made it so fun. Hill and Tatum have great chemistry (but like Chris Hemsworth, it's kind of unfair to the rest of us men that Tatum gets to look like that *and* be so damn funny! It should be illegal!). I just love that the creators were so genuine in their meta-message about BS "do the same thing again" sequels that they burned the entire f*cking franchise to the ground in the end credits. That takes real artistic integrity! (Fun fact, that's also why the creator of Bioshock called the sequel "Bioshock Infinite" - to stop the company sequel-ising the franchise as a cash cow)

Really wouldn't put it past a company totally circumventing that though. I can easily imagine a game titled "Bioshock Infinite 2." Also, a sequel to this movie was actually planned despite the fact that Lord and Miller are on record as saying all the events we see in the credits are canon, and that planned sequel was even more bonkers on paper than those jokey credits ones in my opinion. There were serious plans in motion for a Jump Street x Men In Black movie.
