As per nirukta all the vedic mantra words can have three types of meanings...adhidaivik( cetestial.. Or something inthe sky) adhibhautik ( in this physical world) and adhyatmik ( in the mental world)... Like 'som' can mean moon in the sky, the mind in mental world and related to somaras in physical world... So agastya can mean a star in the sky as well as an actual rishi...

Is it possible to set up one or two proof-of-principle private institutions that will support scholars to pursue such studies without anxiety about a salary or worrying about the need to impress Western scholars (which some Indian University professors worry about)? Waiting for the government will waste precious time. It is worth figuring out what the size of such an endowment would be. I believe that there are many who would get behind such a worthy cause if there is a clearly articulated goal. If it is more feasible to do so, they could take the form of new departments in existing major Veda Pathasalas.

Agastya is the name of a once upon time Pole Star. To make the common man understand the celestial crossing in the heavens, the name was also given to a sage. The crossing of the Pole Start from the North to South was woven into a story and involved a sage named Agastya. During the times when the Vedas and Upanishads were propagated orally, the story of Agastya crossing the Vindhya mountains was narrated for future generations to remember the celestial crossing. Today we are blessed with scientific information and have unravelled the real origins of the story. There are innumerable texts which are waiting to be discovered of their true meaning. Don't expect the Government to come forward as unfortunately they are expected to rule using secular law. Instead Hindu institutions can create committees and entrust them to do further research and the public can fund such research.

Regarding which version of itihasa to read, interpret, follow and assimilate, it's always advisable and preferable to use the original text as is. In this case, Valmiki Ramayana and Veda Vyasa's MBH. Other versions tend to have interpolations/ deviations and can't be reckoned as authentic or pramana for shastraic purposes.

You said that in 26000 BC, the northern most point of Agastya visibility is at Kathua. And in 11000 BC, the northern most visibility point is at Podhigai hill. That would mean a 15000 year half cycle of axial precession i.e., 30000 years for one cycle of axial precession. But we known that the period of one precession cycle is 25500 years. How do we square these divergent figures?

As being a pole star Agastya remains visible below Chidambaram for 4000 years and from Pothigai it is exact pole star for 2000 years likewise for 2000 years, comprising of two nakshatra each of 960 years, is coinciding at upper latitude also. So 26000-24000 BCE Canopus appears still there. And therefore it is 24000-11000=13000 approx years in one course.(either on northern or southern). Hope this serves.

In this Agastya lore I understand that the sages knew that mountains grew in height. May be these sages were in the vicinity of Himalayas n actually observed that Himalayan mountains grew. We know that Himalayas are still growing because of the pushing of tectonic plates one below the other. But Vindhyas did not grow because of the lack of tectonic movement under it. I'm astonished because they didn't have sophisticated instruments to observe growing of Himalayan peaks n also noticed that Vindhya didn't grow.

Thank you for appreciation. Utakamaṇṭalam/ Udaga mandalam may have arrived from udagagraḥ, udaggatau - having the points turned to the north + mandala- territory or circle of latitude upon the globe. Both Udaga mandala and Chidambaram ( chitta-~longed for(adj), aim(n), visible, appeared; ambaram~ circumference, compass; ambaraant~horizon) )are on same latitude and that is intriguing for Agastya rose above these two places on the same latitude during 9500 BCE, ( i.e., also all the places on this latitude) thus they carry information cryptically. Also Agastyamalai range has Agastya's visibility for all the 26000 years of axial precession thus the name bear it all. Southern India has more evidence of samskrita and astronomy encoded on their geography.

⁠ The origin of human inhabitation was south of Tamil Nadu in the Kumari Khandam when the entire earth was in one Khandam (=piece). Their primeval gods were Kumari (Sati / Shakti) and Shiva (Pashupati - the Lord of all Animals [humans included]). Later the earth split and became many khandams and Kumari disappeared. Kerala which might have been part of the Kumari-Khandam that sunk, is on the west of the western ghats and is believed to have been restored from the Arabian Sea by Parashurama by throwing his Parashu weapon from Gokarna - a seat of Shiva to KanyaKumari - a seat of Shakti and hence is known as the gods’ own land). The story goes that Vishnu, (literally meaning the all spreading / pervading), cut the body of Sati into many pieces and distributed it across the world. That indicates the drifting away of the continents as we see today. That is also one reason that there is very much similarity between the tribes of Tamil Nadu, of the Sentinels, of the Africans etc. Later part of puranic history talks about people moving northward into the newly formed indian peninsula and there was peace - Shiva moving to the Himalayas in Dhyana / meditation. Thereafter, when there was severe drought conditions for centuries continuously, that when people even found it difficult to offer obituaries to their departed forefathers, King Bhrigu attempted to bring Ganga water from the skies and it was Lord Shiva who positioned himself upon mount Kailasa to accept the heavenly Ganga (possibly a great comet with plenty of minerals filled water content). It pounced into earth and later disappeared into the earth, until Shiva helped again, in bringing it out from the depth of earths crust, thus obtaining the position of GangaDhara turning it filtered into a sacred water of the Himalayas - also further being sanctified and purified by Maharishi Jhanava and getting credited with the name of Jhaanavi after passing thru his ears. Therefore we see the cultural transition from the world’s oldest language of Tamil turning into Sanskrit and spreading Northwards. All the eastern languages which evolved from original Tamil can be found to be in the phonetic system - Abujida alphasyllabary viz., Chinese, Korean etc. However after the Mahabharata war, when forces of Gandhara (Khandahar) attacked mercilessly the children of Lord Krishna, known as the famous command/curse of Gandhari upon SriKrishna and his children and fellow beings, Krishna advised his folks to move out of India and settle elsewhere in the world, disguised by dress, language and culture. That is when Sanskrit language became transformed to the Alphabet system and compressed into Latin, Hebrew, Greek, Roman, German, Russian, Aramaic,Arabic etc. whose similarity with Sanskrit is also well known. We can even see the DNA trace from the Tamil Nadu region in India spreading across the coastal part upto and beyond Africa. This is because, when the Kumari Khandam split, people stayed back on the drifting borders for some more time as they still communicated and commuted by ferries for some time until they lost their connection with their kin completely when the distance between the lands widened. However, we can also see how kings like Kubera and Ravana had relationships with countries and cultures on the other side of the globe. Kubera owned a vimaana - an apparatus that could travel in the air by which he could deliver & distribute all his annual earnings once every year across everyone in the world. (Though it was interrupted for some time when Ravana captured and ruled SriLanka- the wealthiest nation of that time). [ we can see the story of Kubera modified as Santa Claus ] Thus, the Pashupati seals found in the Indus Valley excavations were of Tamil origin Harappan means HaraAppan (Haran Appan). Haran is Shiva. Shiva is the primeval god. The concept of Shiva and Shakti - Sati originated in the Kumari Khandam which was the single continent where mankind lived. Later that continent sank into the Indian Ocean. This is referred to as the Great Flood wherein Vishnu took the form of Matsya Avatar. (There is also reference to this as Noah’s Ark). After the Great flood, the continent was restored by Varaha Avatar which probably was a Cold Volcano (Varaha means dig out / erupt out from depth). The reference of Varaha destroying the Hiranya Aksha which means Golden Eye explains how the central fire of the volcano was controlled by dousing through filling up with external cool rocks. The fight of Varaha with the Hiranya Aksha is the dousing act. Thereafter we can find Hiranya-Kashipu meaning the Golden Nucleus. (We can even find the reference of Kashyapa Prajaapati as being the source seed of all living creatures - begotten thru his various wives in Human, Birds, Snakes, Gods, Demons etc. When started controlling / ruling / destroying the different organisms, Vishnu took the Avatar of NriSimha meaning negative controller / ruler (Nr meaning not; Simha meaning controller / ruler/ destroyer - HimSa). The story goes that HiranyaKashipu even started trying to destroying its own child thru various means of rolling down from heights, drowning in waters, burning in fire etc., (sort of auto-immuno-cancer, so to say) but couldn’t, thanks to the power of NriSimha - anti- destructive power of Vishnu / NriSimha. Thereafter, we find the first human dwarf form called Vaamana, which grew into the atmospheric/ celestial spheres as well, and occupied the whole of the earth, heavens and even the other organisms that bore the seed of HiranyaKashipu (the golden nucleus). Prahlada his son is the great vibration (prakarshena hiltate iti Prahlada - as in vibration of Aahlaada). Once the human form stabilised, thereafter we can find the evolution as SriRama the perfect human, SriKrishna the SuperHuman etc. It has been observed by scientists that the area identified as Kumari khandam has very low gravity compared to other places on the Earth. Daksha prajapati avoided inert Shiva and his own daughter who is also the consort of Shiva, called Energy/Shakti because he felt that equilibrium of the continent would be affected by their presence (matter & energy - Shiva & Shakti). However Shakti participated per force of her own will against wishes of Shiva as well as Prajapati, (probably referring to a disfunction of the yajna) and that led to dissipation of Shakti. This dissipation of matter is known as Sati. The destroyed continent exploded to all directions, by the Sudarshana (360 degree wheel) of Vishnu and split the Kumari khanda. Thus we see the different continents of the world are pieces of the same, and seem to have been drifted away. The last tip that remained from being drifted was called Kannya Kumari (Cape Comorin - Virgin Power) which is today indicated by the tip of the Indian peninsula. Thus we find the human race spilt from the Kumari Khandam to Africa Australia Asia and hence we see their ancient cultures quite similar to the original Dravidian culture of India. The name Dravida comes from Sanskrit which literally translates to Peninsula. Therefore the whole of India was once known as Dravida until renamed after King Bharata as BharataVarsha due to the intense knowledge streams and philosophies that were developed in this part. (For that matter, the Pandyas and Pallavas were known as Bharatavars - meaning descendants of Bharata). Thus Shiva can be thereafter seen referred as related to the Himalayas as the condensation of volcanic matter is found in the Himalayas. Matter itself was thus considered daughter of Himalayas and called as Parvati. The primeval Lord Shiva therefore can be seen worshiped in the Arabian continent in the KaAba Mecca as Makkeshwara which is a twisted form of pronunciation of Maheshwara. The black vaginal form of rock which the pious Muslims kiss in the Kaaba is the mother matter or mother Parvati who was reborn form of Energy (Shakti). Both Matter and Energy (Prakriti and Shakti) are in Shiva which literally means Peace. Many of the flat earth mentions in the western scriptures is probably referring to the Kumari Khandam itself. It is only in the Indian scripture that we find Varaha bringing forth our Mother Earth in the form of a sphere. It is also mentioned that Tamil came from one side of Shiva’s damroo and Sanskrit from the other side. Moreover, the Sanskrit grammar is codified as Maheshwara Sutra. The vowels and consonants are scientifically arranged in both these languages and that shows that they originated together. Tamil was used for local vernacular use while Sanskrit was used for Science.
