I think that one of the most valuable things I'm learning from your supply swatches and such is that, contrary to how I used to do things, you don't have to buy the whole set. I love that you pick and choose by colour across various brands. And, yes, Payne's Grey is the bee's knees. I want all Payne's Grey in existence!

I loved seeing your sketchbooks! The Strathmore Mixed Media (soft cover) has been my go-to for quite a while. The paper really does take paint well-gouache and acrylic gouache and does reasonably well with watercolor. Colored pencil, too, because the tooth is good but not too textured. I try not to be too precious about mine (the current one is quite a mess, actually). Graphite does transfer and smear quite readily so I ended up putting deli paper between the pages so it wouldn’t turn into a total disaster. // The Pith is quite lovely! I may need to try that one. // Thanks so much for the lovely video!!! 💝

Caught up on your last two videos yesterday, went out and bought a whole bunch of the molotow markers in bright colours (that poison green is to die for), and some new schmincke/daniel smith (and a few cheaper brands aha) watercolour pans. Hi from Santa Barbara Natasha! I just bought two of the Strathmore journals with softcovers in two different sizes from Amazon and received them yesterday. I saw it on Alyona’s channel and loved the lightness and ease of carrying them with me. I have not used them yet, but just by the look, these are the perfect sketchbooks I was looking for such a long time. Hope you find them in UK! And as always, love the painting! Gorgeous background!

Hi Debjani! They seem like great sketchbooks - I did find them on Amazon here in the UK but they were so expensive compared to what you'd pay in the US (and strangely, what I paid for a Strathmore hardback sketchbook!). I hope that they'll become more readily available here too eventually. :)

Hi Natasha... I'm perusing your video's to get as much info as I can glean around gouache... with the Acryla Gouache.. can it be squeezed into a pan (air tight) or is it best only straight from the tube? Thank you in advance...
@NatashaNewtonArt2 жыл бұрын
I've never done that but all my instincts would say: don't do it! It dries so quickly and once it's dry you can't rewet it, so it's unusable. Even paints in airtight palettes dry eventually. I would definitely keep it in the tube. I've never heard of anybody squeezing acrylic gouache into a pan, unless someone sees this comment and knows differently! :)
