How can someone be the “most” “under” appreciated? Sounds like you appreciate him. He’s appearing here on a nationally televised Major TV program. I’m here because someone suggested I look him up. If he is one of the most under appreciated stand ups, who are the least under appreciated stand ups? Do you think it’s possible the you are underrating his under appreciatedness? How far under his appropriate level of appreciation would you tell Nate that he is? Do you think he would appreciate that?

Great horse joke! Here’s my 4 seconds of research: Horses can sleep both standing up and lying down. They can doze and enter light sleep while standing, an adaptation from life as a prey animal in the wild. ... Horses may spend anywhere from four to fifteen hours a day in standing rest, and from a few minutes to several hours lying down.

I went on a YMCA Student Programs retreat in the Appalachians when I was in college. I was riding shotgun in the pickup of another volunteer whom I did not know very well. Shortly before we arrived, I looked over to see two horses in a pasture getting it on. I’d never seen that before. Awkward, but strangely fascinating and entertaining, like this dead horse story. I like. And I did get the “beating a dead horse” implication. I just wanted to share my horseplay story.

The horse story is a bit long, but I love it because it's like how my mind works, too. I see a random, slightly odd thing and my mind takes off down a rabbit hole, extrapolating "what ifs" at the speed of sound. Then I come back to real life suddenly, like I just came out of a trance, to find that I've driven 30 minutes to work or someplace and the last thing I remember was putting on my seatbelt. 🤪
