a man that can make a dunk in between the legs (eastbay) and off two feet that's under 6 ft. is crazy...
@jameswalker68644 жыл бұрын
Not only under 6 ft, but under 5 ft 9 (NBA players are measured in sneakers so Nate Robinson is 5 ft 8 at most):
@eljoelo24592 жыл бұрын
It's because all that travel time going up, he can take a nap before reaching the rim.
@coolwaterz9 жыл бұрын
he won this because its an athletic feat to be able to even touch half the net at 5'7 (nate may be listed as 5'9 but he's closer to 5'7) the fact that he's able to get so much vertical is astounding. if you're going to criticize it for lack of substance, you should also criticize the MJ dunk from the free throw line that won it. the beauty in MJ's dunk was the amount of air time he got which was another athletic feat bec otherwise, it was simply a one handed dunk, thats it. the beauty here is the sheer athleticism and amazing ability a guy a foot shorter than dunkers is able to display. honestly, it's insane how this guy is able to not only dunk but get enough air time to put the ball through his legs etc.. don't hate, you know you respect that.
@MrGMXander9 жыл бұрын
+coolwaterz This. Too many people don't understand this. Maybe its because they never tried dunking or played ball. I have played and I can attest to how incredible it is even for the missed dunks. The made ones are just absurd. For most people under 6 feet, even touching the rim is good. Dunking is excellent but to do advanced dunks below 6 feet is something that just shouldn't be possible with earth's gravity.
@hunterdevoto54048 жыл бұрын
+MrGMXander I'm 6ft and can barely touch rim, much less dunk, Nate is very impressive

+coolwaterz Dominique was robbed by MJ in my opinion. He had already done a variation of his contest winning dunk earlier.

This is was the worst NBA television ever broadcast live. It was endless live cringing just for a couple highlight clips. Of course he had endless attempts, he was a guaranteed marketing phenomenon if he won. Fine he did it, but this is exactly when the slam dunk contest became a joke. I have a ton of respect and love for Nate but not for this. He was super fun to watch as a player, but this was terrible. Spud Webb was legit dunk contest dunking cuz he just went up and did it. This is practicing, not performing.

The problem with Nate Robinson's dunks are that if he was 6'6" like most dunk contest participents his dunks wouldn't be all that impressive. They're only impressive because he's only 5'9". Like Spud Webb. No chance his dunks would be impressive for a guy who's 6'6". If Vince Carter did any of these dunks people would have said "wtf was that"
