Nate’s response to the “clean comedy” question made me think back 5-8 years when I used to lead a committee in charge of booking the entertainment for our annual corporate Christmas party. We’ve done live music, a magician, etc but about 4 years ago, 3 months after our new CEO took position we booked a comedian from Atlanta. His 2 minute clip on the talent booking site was clean and funny. We explained it was a corporate event, with guests aged 13 to 80’s including employees, their family, executives, the Board of Directors and spouses and we desired 30-45 minutes of clean comedy. The night of the event the comedian shows up 5 minutes before he’s scheduled to go on already 3 sheets to the wind. I turn my back as he’s introduced to then see him run on stage holding 3 beers. I had an immediate uneasy feeling. He proceeded to do some dirty, racy curse filled comedy definitely meant for a comedy club with an audience that sought out that type of comedy. The room was filled with crickets while most everyone in the room sat staring at me, while I sat staring at my CEO, while he sat staring at our Board of Directors. Over four years later people love to bring it up and laugh about how dead of a look I had in my face as I watched my CEO listening to his comedy. Suffice to say, the entertainment portion of the evening was taken away from me and the committee that same night and we have never been able to book the entertainment again.

When we were kids, my family relocated to Pittsburgh. My brother Dean thought this would be a good time to start going by the name Scott since he'd always wanted that name. Purely by coincidence, our new neighbors saw a tv commercial about missing kids and thought one of them looked exactly like Dean. Since he was telling everyone his name was Scott, this confirmed their theory. Within a few days my mom got a visit from two FBI agents who demanded to see Dean's birth certificate and baby pictures. Thank goodness she believed the badges looked legit and put away the gun she had carried to the door before opening it. Otherwise our childhood would have been a lot different.

I like how Nate berated Borscht for not knowing the Denver airport was built in 1995, but even after being told that Paul McCartney was out of step with the rest of the Beatles, didn't know which Beatle was Paul McCartney; who, on top of that major hint, is also one of the most famous musicians ever in one of the most famous bands ever.

I was watching a video of a new video game called "Aperture Desk Job", based in the same universe as the Portal and Portal 2 games. Suddenly a blue robot comes up to the screen and starts talking to the player. Immediately I recognize the voice as Nate's! I love the idea of a high tech robot with Nate's personality, including saying "Dad gummit" and "When I bought the glue I knew I should have paid the extra dollar for the good stuff". Portal games are known for their hilarious and dry sense of humor and I was very happy to see Nate join the party. Also, I love when Dusty is on the podcast, always fun to have a guy who is ready to jump on board for any conspiracy theory.

I’m a huge Beatlemaniac and Nate was right. They walked across Abbey Road about 6 times and took a bunch of photos. They ultimately chose that photo because it was the only one where their legs were in sync. Also, Paul wasn’t wearing shoes because he rarely wore shoes while recording and didn’t feel like putting them back on to walk across the street.

This episode was hilarious. Nate playing out how all the conspiracies would be if they were really true had me howling. It made me realize that we're all a bunch of IDIOTS who don't understand how something works, and instead of taking the time to learn something new, we just take what we already know to make it make sense. Who needs the curvature of space and time when you've already got "weight"?!
