They really do stick to the same formula every episode: 1. Nate expects Brian to do all the research before the show 2. Brian presents all the information he was expected to get 3. Aaron is fascinated and provides intellectual information 4. Nate almost immediately gets bored with the topic and chastises Brian for doing the research

In the 80s, when we went to a local aquatic theme park, my mom rinsed out bottles of Log Cabin syrup, filled them up with water and tied a string around it so we could have portable bottles of water. Years later I showed a photo to my husband of me with a water-filled syrup bottle around my neck and explained that it was the late 80s before bottled water was invented. To which he replied “ yeah, water bottles existed back then“. It was then I discovered my parents were just too frugal to spend money on bottled water.

Nate a few weeks ago: “Hello folks is just a common saying, it would be insane to assume that’s one of our fans using it in the wild.” “If someone said “let’s go folks” you’d know for sure that was a fan of the podcast” Nate this week: “let’s go folks… the most common phrase ever…you’d have to be PRETTY arrogant to assume that’s about us” The lack of internal consistency is what makes this podcast excellent, folks!

I tuned in to the weekly episode and I got so excited when Nate called out my name to read my comment but then for the next 3-4 minutes talked about Aaron wearing his adidas shirt and arby's hat showing that he quit working out and then talking about Nate working at a golf course for tips. I didn't know what was funnier, this part or the irony of ADD being the topic before this. I was extremely joyful to listen to you guys say my name (great job Nate you pretty much nailed it) and read my comment. Thank you guys again for just being funny!

I love this podcast but am realizing more and more it's not for everyone. I tried putting it on while driving with a co-worker to a job site. After a few times of me looking over at him when something funny was being talked about, hoping to share a chuckle or even just a smile but seeing a blank stare at the dash, I said "let's just listen to music". Between that and my wife constantly asking "how much longer is this?" I think being a "closet folk" is the best way to move forward.

Completely understand Nate’s struggle with sugar. 4 years ago I weighed the most I ever have and made a commitment to get in shape, dropping 50 lbs, which included completely eliminating sugar, any drinks except water and eating 100% healthy - oven baked chicken breasts, broccoli, salads with no dressing, sweet potato, avocados, etc and kept this up for 18 months before deciding to reward myself at Thanksgiving 2019. That was the end. I kept eating telling myself I was just rewarding myself. Entered 2020 and Covid hit and all gyms closed and I went full speed ahead. I get up at 5:30am and go non-stop until 9:00pm between my daughters and work. When I finally get them to sleep at 9:00pm I go have a little tv time to myself and that’s when I channel the Nate within and more often than I would like to admit I devour all their school snacks requiring us to go to the grocery store the next day to get them more. Unfortunately, sometimes this happens multiple times a week. Now 18 months after Covid hit and I’m a sugary mess I actually weigh 3-5 lbs more than before I lost all the weight 3-4 years ago. I understand the sugar addiction Nate and I accept you for who you are man. Can’t wait to see you in Mobile in October. I might even bring you a 30A sticker.

Hello folks! Back at it again to spout off an amazing fact I always told my students back in the day: Babbler was right when he said the Secret Service was originally formed to investigate counterfeiting, not what we poor non-millionaire folk associate them with: protecting the President. But the crazy part is that the Secret Service was officially created and signed-into law by President Lincoln on the morning of April 14th, 1865.... the same day he was assassinated. It made me furious listening to y'all debate why the Secret Service would be called in when this gold nugget was under y'all's noses the whole time and y'all didn't even know it.
