An excellent lesson! I've been playing for 40 years and this solo is deceptively challenging but well worth the effort. The bluesy/swampy quality combined with the choice of notes and clever bends to really get it sounding right. I've put a lot of time into it over the past week and am getting close, but I would not have got there without this great video lesson. Thank you so much!

Yeah, I've heard this hundreds of times, but this is the first time I actually sat down and learned it.

I am new to soloing. I play acoustic. This is the best lesson I have ever seen for where I am at as a beginner to soloing. It is also my first time seeing your videos. I subscribed and will look for more. Thank you!!

Very nice. Terry Clements played this so well on his 1976 Gretsch Country Gentleman, capoed on the second fret. My friend Tony, a garage band friend of the later group STYX in Roseland, Illinois, taught me this solo one night at work after hearing it on the radio just before lunch. Truly incredible playing by you and Tony. A good amount of it can be seen on the 1979 Gordon Lightfoot Soundstage concert video here on KZbin.

I think it was actually Red Shea who recorded this solo with his 1968 Gibson ES-335 Cherry with Bigsby, on the pickup, into a cranked 1968 Fender Twin Silver Face with Tremolo on at very low speed and intensity.

Of you could do the intro lead to Gordon Lightfoot 's Hangdog Hotel Room, that would be great. It can be seen on the 1979 lbs Soundstage concert of Gordon Lightfoot too.

The solo on the record sounds like an ES-335 going into a Fender Blackface Deluxe or Twin. With the tremolo on.
