I was 60 before I experienced the Canyon for the first time. It is incredibly difficult to put words to the feeling of standing there on the rim. Thank you for this opportunity to see it through your eyes.

I just want to thank Kevin Fadarko and Pete McBride for this beautiful and fullfilling documentary. I have watched it (the 3 parts) on youtube several times now. Every time I watch it I feel like I'm listening to my favorite album. Just gives me so much! Thank you!!!

After kayaking Grand Canyon, I now have your book based on the hike, I watched the film, I read The Emerald Mile. I think I'm obsessed.

Just a note: I looked up the word "Grand" in Grand Canyon, and the word does not mean big or large. It means magnificent and imposing in appearance filled with awe and wonder which is what the Grand Canyon actually is. I've hiked it three times. A mere sniff compared to these guys' experience. Great presentation!

Lesson: ask the professionals- those who have been there done that.

I didn't see them filter water anywhere in the documentary. Iodine pills ? (Oh they definitely drank from puddles directly-why would a nat geo documentary show such a thing ?) Also did I see one of them wearing a bicycle helmet when rappelling ? Bike helmets are single crash helmets - not the same as climbing helmets. Also, they were hiking too close to the edge sometimes, I think for photo/video value. I would imagine people would hike farther away from the edge.

Nice story but hard to listen to Kevin’s vocabulary. Megafauna? Ethos? Psychological matrix? Ugh. I just kept zoning out when he was speaking. 🙄
