Nathan’s appearance on the Today Show was great. They had him for 3 different segments. He hadn’t seen his mom for a month, and they surprised him by having her show up with a pizza. We got to hear from her and they showed some of the 4 year old skating video. They ask some really good questions so more of Nathan’s personality came through. For those that are interested, Nathan will be on CBS tomorrow morning (23rd), and on James Corden in the evening.

As fans of the sport (and the art) of figure skating, we're so lucky to be alive at a time to watch not just Nathan, but legends like Yuzuru Hanyu and heir-apparent Shoma Uno all at the same time. Great interview, if a little too short! Nathan reminds me a little of Apolo Ohno as a returning Olympic champion... cool, composed, humble, and camera-ready. P.S. Nike must be very, very happy with all that free advertising an Olympic gold medalist just casually handed them.

I've heard a Japanese man criticize fanyus that they harm themselves and harm Hanyu himself. I have heard this opinion many times ! Just because you are lowering the value of another athlete, you are not adding to Hanyu glory ! Especially when it is an athlete who wins constantly with an overwhelming advantage. Disrespecting others doesn't help Hanyu ! And fanyus are not taken seriously....@with wings
